I dont know where you live or what is in your soil but in Hawaii wild boars will sometimes poke their snouts inside your pot looking for shit, this is one reason I dont use bloodmeal, fish emulsion, or other type amendments in my soil.
I have yet to have a boar completely uproot a plant but every time this has happened before it has been when they were in very large pots.

Put up a fence and get yourself some animal replant. I use D-ter here in oz and last for 12 weeks (good for birds, rabbits, dogs, cats, roo's, possums, foxes you name it) Just spray it around and your all good (don't spray it on your plants just around the edges of your plot and outside your fence).
In the USA I seen one where they make it of mountain loin urine. It basically creates fear in the animal your having trouble with, and they all stay the fuck away from your plot, yard or where ever your having trouble. If you think about it, what animal is going near anything that smells like theirs a predator around? They just high tail it out of there and generally stay away from the area.

Do your research as there a few good ones on the market. They can be a little expensive but they are a must for anyone guerrilla growing or just growing in the back yard. Even if your trying to keep racoons away from your home. Give it a ago.

I used to use bone meal and the same thing would happen to me. Skipped the bone meal this year and no digging yet.

its hard to keep the animals away. better to lose half your plants to animals than risk getting caught by aerial seeing your fences though... just my opinion.
i had some digging my plants up too.. they just threw the plants to the side and dug in my container.. looked like they were looking for bugs to me... probably raccoon or possum.

Let your holes with new soil sit for at least 1 month before planting
this will let the diggers play and find out there is nothing for them in there

my plants far outgrow the small bit of fencing around the base of them, and my plants are safe from critters and choppers

For some reason animals love to dig into a fresh turned hole, ive found that it helps alot to go out and turn my holes a few weeks in advance this gives them time to satisfy their curiosity in my dirt. I quit using wire couple years ago mainly because i felt it helped make my holes more noticeable from above. theirs alot of good products out there for repelling animals. My favorite is liquid fence.
No ones saying put a fence for the world to see. It's got to be done stealthy, I put mine up through the lantana so it's practically invisible!
If you cant use a fence, like i said try some animal repellant (cost $25 delivered) and your good to go. You can try pissing around the area but it hasn't worked for me in the past.

it's the most reliable repellent ive tried. You gotta apply it a few times, but thats no problem. I usaully dont have any problems with animals after my plants get a little size to them.
