Plants yellow and very tiny buds

Hi, here is a little background on me & this grow. This is my third grow (the first two where autoflowers), last harvest i got 100g per plant on my autos. Those plants were healty and green until mid flower ( I have pictures of the first three weeks when they where green if you want)

This round i have : A blue Gelato #41 (old gift seed), a quick critical + (seed) and a Gorilla Glue#4 (bsf seed) from a cutting.

Indoor grow in a grow tent with a ES 180V2 and a chinese LED (only for the blue gelato).

I flipped on the 14 of September, I had no problem until week 4 of flower when the GG#4 started yellowing then the Blue Gelato started yellowing, and two weeks after that all my 3 plants where yellow with the leaves looking like they where burnt.

As I write this post, I have my Blue Gelato and my GG#4 still left in the tent, they have almost no bud, the bud production stopped like 3 weeks ago, I harvested my Quick Critical and I have almost nothing on it. (maybe 30g dry)..

The solutions I tried (in order) :

First I thought that I burnt my GG#4 so I flushed for 2 weeks

At week 4 my quick critical turned yellow in a week so at week 5 I started giving nutrients again, at first 450PPM then i upped to the normal EC (I checked on Dinafem website to be sure).

By then my GG#4 became green again where it could but it stopped growing.

My blue gelato on the other hand is still very green but is continuing to yellow, i feed her the correct dose of nutrient but she continue to yellow, last feed i gave her PHed water but still, she is yellowing.
Even tho she was 90% green the buds didn't grow, when i compare to other grows on growdiaries mine has little to not bud...

GG#4 is on the right, blue gelato on the left.

PH : 6.2 -6.7
Soil : Biobizz all mix
Pot : 3Gal for Blue gelato 7Gal for GG#4
Veg: 5 weeks for seed, 8weeks for cut
Nutrient : Biobizz veg and biobizz bloom (i follow there chart)

In my two auto grow i never had this kind of problem and had some incredible weed, i take great care of my plant and try to do the very best, i spent hundreds of hours online to learn everything i could, i searched everything on every site possible but still i can't get anything to work...

I have 4 clones (2 blue gelato, 1 GG#4, 1quick) that I have been vegging in another room for two months, i'm scared that when I put them into flower they also yellow and produce nothing...

Thank's a lot for the answers in advance, cannabis is precious and seeing my plants like this had made me very depressed :(

Your plants were yellowing because you probably had little nitrogen in your bloom feed. Yellow leaves eventually go brown and crispy.

Then you flushed for 2 weeks yellowed the leaves further which then died and went brown? But saved the rest of the leaves by resuming feeding?

450ppm of feed isn’t gonna do that unless you had hot soil.

Feed her 50/50 grow and bloom at 1/2 strength till finish

First thank's a lot for the answers ! I once posted to a famous youtuber discord and was just laughed at.

Damn dude those plants are crispy turds. Chop her down and start over.

Just my IMO. Someone will come here try telling you it can be saved and you'll be left with some lame ass weed that taste like stale dry kale.
My blue Gelato still has 70-80% of green leaves.

The Quick Critical + that I chopped last week (almost all the leaves were yellow) taste nice and is good. Trichomes looking good just not a lot of buds.

I agree with you for the beginning, i fed 450PPM then 850PPM then added some PK boosters.
I really neglected the grow nutrients.... I thought I had to, as I said it's my first photoperiod run :/

My blue gelato is just starting to yellow ! but the buds are really small for almost 2 month of bloom ? Why ?

I would prune off as much of that necrotic leaf as you can so plant spends time on blooming over “ repair. “

i am thinking it was a severe potassium def.
Reason being it starts along serrated edges as yellow then goes necrotic brown as it worsens.
No a big fan of biobizz. Less than stellar bud growth happens if a needed bloom element is lacking. Potassium def. often mimics nute burn

EXAMPLE :

Look at the leaf margins - this is the early start of issue.

Three leaves, the bigger one is from the GG#4 (she stopped yellowing weeks ago but never resumed bud production)

The smaller ones are from the Blue Gelato 41, she just started yellowing (a week ago) but the bud growth stopped weeks ago.

I really want to know what happened as i said i have healthy clones that have been vegging for two month and trained (one is even mainlined) that I now hesitate to bloom...

Did you ever check the runoff ec? All mix is pretty hot to start, so your ppms might have built up too high at some point. If you run the same media/nutes next time, be sure to feed your nutes to plenty of runoff, watch your ec and try 1/2 the amount the schedule calls for to start. Are you running the entire Bio BIzz line or just the Grow/Bloom? I can't find their simple feeding schedule for just those two. You might want to get some buffered, low ec coco, and run a few pots side by side with the all mix. I feel like a lot of people run into trouble with media that's too hot to start.

I have bio grow, bloom, calmag. I follow they chart for feeding according to the medium i use. Since I use their nutrients + soil i don't think there is a problem there i know a lot of people who do and we don't have any problem.

I am almost sure that the problems started with me :/

Checking the EC and PH of my runoff is something i'll implement next grow !

BB is organic. Dont flush unless you got a serious overfed built up.
BB Grow+Bloom already gives a strong PK boost - NPK ~ 3-6-6.5 IIRC... combine with another booster does create locks! Not recommended at all.

Your plants dont look like being more than a month in flower. If they yellow premature - you need nitrogen. Get Fishmix for next time.
And only half strength of nutes.
Then you dont have to flush - this will incapacitate the microbes as some will be washed away - but these are the ones processing the BB nutes.

Hope this helps :weed:

BTW would prune damaged leaves away...

I've never seen a deficiency alone brown out the sugar leaves like that. I'd put money on YA BURNT THE SHIT OUT OF EM! Flushing was a good idea, but you didn't say anything about pH'ing your feed...did I miss something?

I'd like to bump this topic because tomorrow i will cut down the two plants and move in the healthy clones that have been vegging for two month.

I still don't get how those plants failed so much, alright the Quick Critical + and the Gorilla Glue #4 yellowed and didn't produced any bud, but what about the Blue Gelato 41 ?
This plant never produced any bud, she had some yellow leaves but mainly stayed green, i can see why the other two failed as they where burnt, but this was one was green...

I would like to reiterate that they are in the 8th week of flower....

Could a defiency burn that much plants ? I've searched all over the internet for weeks i'm just tired of this, i don't understand how they got like this

I agree, if it was nitrogen deficiency the whole leaf turns yellow not just the edges. and it would start at the bottom. the plant is basically eating the leaves to produce buds at this point

Bud production stopped weeks ago man, and my blue gelato had like no yellow leaf but it still didn't produced any buds.

Stop being so patronising, you think i didn't knew this webpage ? I've read it 10x per day alright when my plants were dying, i did everything the internet told me to do, but everyone is saying something and no one is saying the same thing.

I just want to know what happenned to those plants so i don't make the same mistake.

What should i have done to prevent this or fix this ? The burnt leaves happened in less than a week

pH your nutrient solution. pH your water. Every time! Don't give dry pots feed or they will burn. Water in between feedings or you will end up with toxic soil (Most likely your problem). Always check your runoff pH. Start with 1/2 strength nutes and work your way up depending on how the girls respond. And most importantly, stay calm.

Look at my first post i tell my PH ! :) Do you know why my blue gelato didn't produce any buds ?
