Every time I type LED into the search function, it comes back empty. However, I know there are LED threds here and that there are people here with LED experience. I need all the LED info I can get ESPECIALLY pics. Someone I know is doing an LED grow (not me) and I think they are using too few and too cheap panels. Already their plants are yellow. Please help!

Peace,

I used 4 flood style High Output LED Clusters I found on ebay. They really perked my plants up and I figured this was because I was using a 600 HPS so they liked the extra blue light. I also used the leds to bring up my seedlings on my second strain and it worked like a charm! Super cool, super efficient, super focused wavelengths! A definite must for people who use HPS all the way through!

P.S. I stopped using them when I started flowering because they were all blue but I saw the same lights from the same store in all red and half blue/half red!

I figure an LED UFO in a ScrOG would more than pay for itself in a grow, if it can cover 9 sq. ft. as described here: -HID-LED-UFO

I figured this by this equation:
9 X 2 ounces of good shit X $150 per wholesale ounce = $2700 - $600 per LED

Does that sound a bit right?

It also seems LED's would kill in a greenhouse, used to cover 10 sq. ft. for supplemental lighting.

Woah, that was way off. I am highhhhH! 3 X 3 is 3 sq. feet.. meaning only $900 GROSS... so it does sort of pay for itself but it's like you were delayed for one harvest cycle, hmm.... I'm wondering if this would be worth my investment.

Once they figure out an affordable manufacturing procedure, which will probably take several years.

I'm just curious...what was your female to male ratio? Given everything I've been reading states blue light during early veg increases your number of female plants.

And...yes, I'm a newbie setting up my first grow tent. :? This will help answer my questions re: buying blue LEDs on eBay!

Blue in veg is simply good for vegetative growth. I can't definitively say that's not true, though, because less stress causes more females, and more efficient veg lighting would cause there to be less stress.
