Hello,
First time grower here, running into an issue with what i have come to a conclusion is a Iron deficiency probably due to high ph. I made a cal mag foliar spray, but kinda need some guidance as to what steps to take to fix this problem.

Any help with this or advice would be greatly appreciated there is so much info out there it gets kinda overwhelming for someone that hasn’t grown anything.
Please see below for grow info:

All six are autoflower plants and are on day 28 when this pic was taken.

x2 Girl Scout Cookies

x2 Bruce Banner

x2 Gorilla Glue

Grow info

5x5 Mars Hydro Tent

Light Ts3000
22" from plant tops at 100%
ppfd 500-600 dli 45-55
Running 24/7

5 gallon fabric pots

Medium: 70% coco coir / 30% perilite. I also added about 15% ewc and the following dry amendments 3tb per gallon of 4-4-4 and 1tb per gallon 3-9-4.
Medium PH 6.8
I have not fed the plants any nuts at all other then what I premixed in medium. I have given them a aerated tea with bat guano(7-3-1), worm castings, molasses, alfalfa meal and kelp meal at 10 days and have another one ready for day 21.

Water: Tap water aerated for 24 hours and Ph 6.3 water temp 67f.
Last watering on Jan 14th was at 6.0 ph and it was the first time I watered with around 15% run off.
Run off Ph was 5.8

Climate control Air Infiniti with 6" carbon filter
Temp 74f RH 64% VPD .9kpa
I have two fans going.

I just found out about VPD a week ago and corrected it with a humidifier up until last week my VPD was at 1.6kpa which I think is way to high from what I’m reading on the charts.

I’m here to learn and not afraid of criticism.
Thanks in ad20220115_083317.jpg20220115_083304.jpg20220115_083240.jpg20220115_083234.jpg20220115_083230.jpg20220115_083317.jpg20220115_083304.jpg20220115_083240.jpg20220115_083234.jpg20220115_083230.jpgvance.

I'm not a indoor dude, but I don't think you need carbon filter yet, so you can save some money turning it off till flowering, looks like some N deficiency

best regards

There's your issue.

I figured in my first attempt I would kill a plant or two and make room for the ones that survive . I thought auto's grow on the smaller side also. I dono I'm an idiot I guess lol.
Trying to do to much too soon is common
I always support the simpler the better
And killing a plant becomes harder as you go
Just seems like a tight fit

Ph all over the place - wrong nutes ( pretty sure a better water soluble line would have been better ) among a few other things ….

Autos need very little - as you are running maybe 100 days give or take so a simple bagged soil mix would have cut out all the drama.

Basically its that medium concoction and the tail chasing by trying to treat it as soil.

In coco you can use dry amendments but they do not release immediately. You're going to need to feed bottled nutrients if you're insistant on organic Biobizz is some good stuff. It's pricey but its premium quality and extremely functional in coco.

Those plants are just hungry and it could be due to PH but I'm guessing its the "dry amendments" used. Dry amendments unless its salts need to break down before they're available to the plant. Usually with microbial support which is non existent in mediums such as coco where its inert of living bacteria unlike compost soils.

btw the only biobizz bottles you should "need" with your setup is their grow & bloom. Use grow as directed during grow and then switch to bloom when its bloom time. Don't think too much about PH it shouldn't matter in organics unless your tap is really acidic or something..

Can it really be that simple with autos to just use bagged soil mix? If so would you mind letting me know what brand? Thanks for the info

Nothing about Auto Flowers is simple. They're hype and a bunch of YouTubers recommend it to new growers when it's a retarded concept because it uses more electricity which costs more money and the plants are inconsistent due to not being able to clone a plant and have consistent results. Seeds are always unpredictable regardless of its an autoflower, regular or feminized seed. You will get different phenotypes and plants that handle things differently. Its like having a kid thats always hot and a kid thats always cold trying to make everyone happy.

Hey appreciate your time. My tap ph is around 9. I guess my thought process was the teas I was making every 10 days was putting the bacteria and microbial life in my coco but I might be way off?

Yes that's how I got suckered into trying my first grow with autos but the more I learn about autos it seems there is less time to correct your errors with autos and everything has to be on point not ideal for a first timer. FML

Nope you're dead on, honestly every 7-10 days is good to add microbes in coco. Your PH is high then, so you may be too high of input PH. Make sure in coco your ph is always between 5.8-6.0.

Autos aren't repeatable because they can't be cloned so there is no way to learn what to do next time other than "generally". I started out with Autos myself and coulda saved myself a lot of time just cutting clones and running the same plants again.. Is what it is. Autoflower is trash.

Up until my last watering my ph was 6.5.
I have lowered it to 6.0 on my last watering and for future. I'm just lost at what my next step would be to fix my plants issues? Do I add the extra Biobizz nutrients as you suggested or make a tea instead of next watering? There is so much information thats out there hard to learn so much at once.

Pretty much this, trying to do the Canadian style grow of Canucks, and how do you know, This question for the 5x5 grower that started this thread, how do you know the soil\media pH is too high?

I've noticed that teas generally drop in pH as they cook. Has he checked the pH of the teas before using?
