Hey Guys... hope growing goin good... just a small update.

I changed my res with distilled water today as suggested to flush out all the extra stuff that spotting/burning them.

Plant Age:
Day 24

New Nutes in Tank 40 L:
Distilled water
Advanced Hydroponic Root Stimulator @ 1ml / L (but I put tad bit below exact 40ml, say around 36ml)

pH: 5.8
EC < 0.2

Atomosphere:
78 ~ 80 degree F
55% ~ 60% RH

What do you guys think? Is the EC too low, should I add some more nutes, I have Advanced Nutrients Grow/Micro/Bloom and Atami B'Cuzz Hydro A & B, any recommendations?

I am worried now that I am not under-feeding them. Should I increase nutrient strength after couple of days?

Light:
8 X 85W CFL @ 3" ~ 4" from tops

Please guide me!

Come on guys 178 views with only 18 replies, but thanks anyways for all those who have given me valuable info.

Cheers!

PS: Will update with pictures in a few days.
Hey Sid...glad you are commited to your plants and changing out your res as suggested and only having low dose nutes. My only suggestion is this: You will drive yourself crazy trying to control your EC/Ph/TDS...it's cool, we all understand what these principles mean. To be 100% honest, I don't even check my EC/PH/TDS...I have a small garden tho...its easier to manage a smaller garden than a large garden. I started out like this: I went to GH's website (In your case, Advanced nutrients website) and found a nice feeding schedule chart. I followed the feeding schedule and grew some phat nugs. After awhile, I simply learned to notice when my strains need feedings/res changes, etc,. Also, don't forget that certain strains like a higher PH/EC than others. So by me telling you whats' good, may not be good for your strain.

Sorry to be all over the place, but I'm heavily medicated.

To answer another question i caught, was when you start feeding nutes, etc. Like I think I mentioned before, MJ has its own natural nutes within its seed to maintain its survivabilty for its first 4-5 weeks of life. After that, you start with 1/4 dose nutes and work your way on up every res change. Trust me...check out the feeding schedule chart and you'll thank me in the long run.

Hope for the best!

Jonboy

Do you mist your plants? Same thing happened to me not long ago when I misted my plants an hour before lights out instead of 15 minutes before lights out. Light burn magnified by water droplets.

Be patient grasshopper... you don't want to react too hastily. If you are not noticing anything drastic, then just let things run their course for a few days and go from there. It takes time for things to adjust, so let it take do what it does best.

Thank you people! Really appreciate the response.

Will keep updated how things go!

Now, I just sit and wait.

During this wait, I wanted to address some grow room mods, optimize ventilation maybe.

Is Active Intake > Active Exhaust a good thing?

When it comes to this, I get really confused since their are myriad principles which I can implement. I don't really think/hope that smell will be an issue, just wanna keep my plants happy. Any suggestions?

Happy growing to All!

Cheers!

Hi Guys,

I am really worried about my plants. I flushed them day before yesterday with only Root Stimulator and pH-ed water.

The leaves are drooping/wilting, but all in all the leaves look nice and green, roots white.

I am going to add 1/4 strength nutrient today, using Advanced Nutrients.

Have attached a few picture, please comment.

Please guys, help help help!

You can see the new growth - looking better! The rest of the older leaves have a sure sign of nutrient burn - I suggest to take it easy and just let things reach equilibrium before making any major changes just yet. Consistency is key.

Thanks aficionado! Taking a sigh of relief.

So I am not changing the res to 1/4 strength? When do you think is the right time, of course I will see how the plant reacts in the next couple of days, but just as an average, res change in how many days/weeks?

I have added another circulation fan, so the leaves flutter.

But what is causing the wilt/drooping, some of them touching the system top, I have been researching a lot, but most healthy plants with same age are more straight!!

Hope growin goin good.

Cheers!

PS: I have also added a high-power aeration pump... the res looks nice clear.

When a plant receives an overdose of nutrients that result in those kind of burns, it will take a little to clear out the mess. The fact you have new growth that looks great is a very positive sign. I usually don't add nutrients until my clones are at least 6" tall with saturated root balls and showing signs of their upward ascension. I would wait a couple more days on the nutrients personally - let it clear out a bit more and get a couple more leaf pairs, then start your cycle of 1/4 strength. I know I must sound like a broken record, but the #1 mistake newbies make is overdoing it when there is a problem. You successfully identified the problem, corrected course, now give it time to to fix itself.

O2 in the reservoir is awesome! Makes for happy roots.

Thanks again aficionado!

I am growing from seeds and the roots are now getting denser, now they are nice and long, but no root balls.

I'll follow your lead and wait couple of days, see how the plant fairs and add 1/4 nute.

More advice!

Grow my little babies... grow!!

some times when clones are placed on a new system they get a little stress it has to adjust to it's new home, and care but you are following some good info, and your plants are not going to die. next time use some reverse osmosis water and if you want get some fox farms big bloom, this is a organic all natural and very low on concentrates so it doesn't burn, it can be given at any phase of growth and you can mix it with your nutes for a healthy grow, or get some magic green or some foliare feed. but i don't think is nute burn, you should be fine

hi guys,
I still very concerned about my plants, I have followed all advice to the details and still nothing.

If you look at my pictures in the last post, the top right plant was the healthiest, big leaves, green. In the last couple of days the leaves have rust like spots and are yellowing a little bit.

Should I add 1/4 nutrient to it now? What seems to be the problem? Leaves are still drooping/wilting, though the tops are still green.

Can CO2 lead to this problem? Should I try adding C02?

I don't want my 1st grow to fail.

Please guys more input from your side!

Thanks.

I just added 1/4 strength Advanced Nutrients Grow-Micro-Bloom, so in my 35L tank, I did 15ml-15ml-3ml.

pH: 5.5
EC: 0.4

What says guys?

Also, Advanced Nutrients website says to add Micro then Grow then Bloom, I did Grow Micro Bloom, would this have a considerable effect?

Thanks

Hey Guys,
No update for a long time... My plants are doing great, they are 43 days into vegging, I am thinking to start 12/12 around 51 days... let me know.

Also, should I cut the lower branched now so I have all attention to top cola, or wait till I start 12/12?
