Please help me figure out what I just bought!!!

Ok, so I needed a 250W HPS light for my first grow. I am growing in soil, but I managed to find a good 250 HPS system for $100, and it came with a bunch of hydro stuff, PH tester/up/down, some nutrients, etc. It also came with these two black tubs that are stacked one inside the other. The bottom one is just an empty tub with a cord coming out of the bottom, and the top one has some kind of filter coming out of the bottom, and a cord. So, what are these tubs, why are they different, and what are these little balls sitting in the pots? Are they worth anything or can I just throw them out to store these? Thanks!

Dude you serious? Fllod and drain hydro system. The little balls are Hydroton your growing medium. and you got a 250W hps also for $100 Good Score

Sweet, guess I got a pretty good deal! Is there a way I can clean the flood and drain system, or do I even need to? And is there an easy way to test the little filter/pump thing or whatever?

Thats a good one can i throw those balls away...i guess you dint know what they were for i do n i dont grow hydro...lol

Yes wash them to get the salts off.
