i have six little seedlings that have sprouted and are about an inch and a half tall but seem to already show signs of deficiencies and flushed leaves. i'm putting them under 4 mixed spectrum floro lights on 24/7 and with a gentle fan for circulation. i have them in small Styrofoam cups filled with cocoa core. im watering often (daily) with purified water out of a water bottle. i don't want to give them nutes because they haven't even sprouted 100% true leaves. i keep the room about 75-80 F.

i do have a 4x4 ten with a 600w MH and HPS air cooled tube with a interchangeable 400-600w ballast. i also have a six inch tunnel fan for ventilation. i don't want to put them in there in fear of more harm due to burn at their young age.

please please please help, if you cant help me with all of it please let me know what you know, any input is appreciated.

just feel the weight of the cups. its very obvious when they are getting dry. they don't need to be wet........just moist. chill, there is no such thing as a deficiency for a seedling.....lmao.

newbies! :).

at that size they will need a shot glass full every morning under mh / hps or every other day under cfl

if you follow my direction right you will have healthy plants
1- make sure there is holes at the bottom of the cups like 6 to 8 holes
2- add nut to your ph water not exceed 200 ppm by any means
3- carry the cup when you water and make sure the extra water go away
good luck

PS : the roots from the seeds grow down straight first so you do not have enough holes so the extra water starting to have rotten roots but its repairable

I'm not sure I agree with absolutely no nutes for the first two weeks, at least counting from when the plant makes its way above soil/medium. I've been doing that almost religiously for over a year and I always end up with yellowing leaves on the lowest true node by two weeks. I think I'm going to introduce a very weak nute addition, something like Maxicrop a little sooner.

what is ur humidity it should be about 40-60 I had similar probs when I started and I thought it was a def so I added nutes and killed them until I brought my humidity up and not long after that I read a article that seedlings like humidity as it helps to develop roots if ur humidity is to low the roots won't develop and if they don't develop they don't get the nutrients they need and they show signs of deficiencies and so people add nutes seedlings don't need nutes till about 2 weeks old

i just put a wet tea/ dish clothe in the room and kept it wet not dripping lightly wrung out that worked for me

im running at about normal humidity (50-60 %) i do know in veg they like it humid, but it not being humid enough wouldnt cause yellowing...would it?
i will take note to all people that mentioned to me about my watering. though like i said my medium is the cocoa corr, its a neutral medium with no additives, my medium is the only thing that i tweaked this grow than to all of my others because i heard that it was very successful in root stimulation and growth, but my only problem is the yellowing. other than that, to the tap with finger they seem to be well grounded (as much as a seedling should be) so this type of thing might go away in time. the only part that is tricking me up is that i see the same cases in all of my other plants.
