So I just wanted to try and grow some plain ole bag seeds. It was okay bud, just wasn't harvested at the right time and cured wrong. So let's get to the point. I wanna add some orange flavoring to it and was wondering if I could grind up some orange peels and mix with water. Then when it comes time to harvest, starve the plants and then before I harvest water them with the orange zest water mixture. Would this add any flavor??

They make different things that clam to add citrus to the taste but never seemed to do anything. IMO the tast is strain related and the only thing you can do is make sure you dry and cure it right this time around. Dont matter what you add to it if its not cured right then all is lost.

Here's one way to flavor product --

Harvest like normal and you want to dry your product, not dry and cure. Point is to get it as crispy as possible. The you re-hydrate with an orange slice. I use a 3-inch bowl, put the orange slice in the bowl and place the bowl and product in a large sealable Tupperware bowl. Seal the bowl and wait for the crispy product to absorb the essence of orange. Takes 12-24 hours. Product will have a sharp citrus smell.

Good luck, BigSteve.

"plants don't absorb flavors"

They sure absorb smells. I think that qualifies as absorbing flavors.

Yea, I've read about the orange/citrus peels in your drying jars. Wouldnt it make more sense to get a good cure (couple weeks at least), then just store with your choice of citrus peels? You'd have to replace them so they wouldnt mold up and mess your flowers up, but if you did that for a few weeks im sure you'd get a noticeable scent. Probably not much on the smoke I bet, but the jar would smell nice if you werent happy with your girls scent :)

I passed on what I knew about flavoring product - but I don't really think it is a good idea. Adding something for purely cosmetic reasons is questionable to me. Now if you could make the buds orange in color...?
