Please help.. Watering plants

This is my first time growing and its outdoors. I leave for a week or two every now and then and i need my plants to be watered. plus i dont want to water that damn thing ever two or three days. Is there something i can do like an aqua globe alternative or something. Something that will water my plants for a good 2 or 3 weeks.

not sure about the aqua globe i would like to find out also.

i've used these with two liter soda bottles - http://www.uncommongoods.com/item/item.jsp?itemId=18961&utm_medium=shopping+sites&utm_source=froogle&utm_campaign=18961 - if you thoroughly water before using these then you plants can easily last longer than a week.
