Please help with coco coir

I don't use bottle nutes. Paying for water is crazy to me. I have been using jacks powder nutes from J.r peters for years. I have not needed Cal mag since switching to powders. And I don't worry about run off PH. And I grow in coco.

So coco growers, at the end of the grow to try and make the buds taste nice like organic soil buds, what's your secret? When do you stop nutes?

First I'll start off with the natural pH of coir is around 6.2. Alot closer to the natural pH that the plants require instead of the natural pH of peat which is around 4.9.
As for me I switch from full synthetics to Pure blend pro once my pistols start to turn colors and start tapering my feed strengths from there. First thing you'll have to understand that my feeds are never over 500 ppm or 1.0 ec at maximum. Otherwise they get fed with at least some nutrients till the last feed which is plain water.
If you buy a quality coir and quality hydroponic nutrients there should be no need to have to add a cal supplement. Haven't used a cal-mag supplement in my coir for 2 years now.

Great answers thank you all! I will buy cal - mag and add that on top of my normal schedule. What kind of product would you use when u already have a 2 part nutrient and some extra magnesium from Gold-label (europe) should i skip my normal magnesium or maybe cut it down abit when adding calmag?

I have two to choose betwen one is with 9-0-0 and the other is 2-0-0. I think the last one would be best since it have lesser N so there is a less chance of them getting Nitrogen toxicity in the long run am i right. ? / Flodas

what would you guys feed 2 week old seedings in coco in terms of overall EC?
First week i use ph water 0.2 ec. Now im week 2 and im up to 0.350 usingel 2 part nutes for coco.

Edit/ My background ec water is 0.2 from the tap. And then i add 0.150 to reach 0.350 in week 2 ! enjoy

@flodas just a heads up, if you're using LEDs as well as Coco, I've found that I had to use extra cal mag above what my line suggested. I'm using bluprle light tho, so that might be part of it. Just keep an eye on your plants. I've read on here that LEDs cause plants to be Cal hungry, so LED and Coco is sort of a double whammy. Just my personal experience.

I didn't say I believed it, necessarily, just that he should be aware. I noticed for me that I have to use extra, but that could be due to other factors, obciously. The member who said it was fairly smart iirc.
Coco is set up for the calcium requirements with its buffering, coco nutes have the required calcium also. Leds do not make you need extra and most of us laugh at that statement thesedays lol.

Add too much calmag and your plant certainly lets you know about it with messed up leaves, id suggest just buying a good brand of coco and coco nutes and forgetting all the add ons.

Duly noted. My nute line isn't specific for coco, so I add cal-mag. The recommended wasn't enough, so I added a bit extra.

Thanks for clearing that up though.

Edit: completely true too, just realized I used 2x cause I can't math instead of my usual 1.5x, the leaves are mad.
