Please help!

Hello all,

I am a brand new grower that I think has got a little over excited and killed my seedlings!

I have a set up of :-
4*4 foot square and 6 & 1/2 foot tall grow tent
Rhino filter
400 watt hid lamp
large fan for breeze
8 hole amazon aeroponic system using clay pellet for baskets
50ltr air pump and 12" stone

This is a good setup I'm told!?!

Well this is where the fun starts, I started 5 barneys pineapple chunk from seed and 4 germinated. I then potted them in soil medium, nice and fluffy 3 parts etc... Well they started great I had some big growth in the first 4 days then like the overgrown man child I am I only went and transferred them into the aero system and added the nutrients and ran the sprays 24/7! What a douche!

Needless to say 3 died and now only one is left, well I say left what I mean to say is I have a seedling whos leaves have turned completely yellow and the leaves have curled down touching the stem nearly, after research I now think this is over watering maybe a bit of nutrient burn?

I have tried to save her by completely replacing water to remove nutrients and now the sprays are on for 15mins every 6 hours (timer only has 15 min sections) I will increase this if she gets better but trying to save from overwatering just now.

Does anybody know if I am on the right track here or have I missed something out, pls any help will be much appreciated, yes I have done a lot of research before I set up but there is still sooooo much I still need to learn!
first thing I need to do is not get excited like a kid! But this is
my first grow so pls be gentle I know I messed up!

To save your plant,, put it back in soil.. and give it a water only flush... and then hope.

PS you cant grow with HID .. you need CLF,, MH, HPS.. or anything in the 2.7 K if you can have both also the 6.5K for Veg

Thanks for the quick response, will repot them in soil. Ha yer, I have no idea why I put HID my light is a HPS lamp, shouldn't of schmoked that half j still left from when I crashed lol but what are day off for

hid is mh and hps. I think you probably killed the one you have left just don't know it yet. Bet you won't leave those sprayers on so long next time. Live and learn. At least your trying. Good luck.

Can u post a picture so we can see the state of the plants plz and alos what is the ph of your res and temp

Ha yer, you got it in one with the sprayers. You right by the way it was dead, thanks for input

Thanks for taking the time to respond, but unfortunately she was dead. I now have 5 new seeds germing now which is good.
My PH was about 6/6.5 and my water temp I struggled to keep down so I was putting ice bottles in to cool, but the temp did fluctuate
abit.

in aero sprayer can stayon for a while but 6hrs between spraying is asking for more problems. stay at 15min on and 45mins off. babies need very little help with nutes, 200ppm max for first 9-14 days.

i never grew hydro before but off the back i can tell you { and in the back of ya mind u probably already knew this } that 4 days old transplanting ,dont ever do that again ,to risky and the plant is to young ..
two , as vx420 said flouresent light for veg or mh once they gain there first two fan leaves but u must have a breeze on them or theyl burn up or go into shock like state from light sensitivity ..

starting in soil is a good idea to me ,,, i think u would get a good root system faster this way , but should of waited till first two fan leaves and get a flouesent light system..
they all cost about the same give or take a dollar or two... for ya 4x4 tent which i use also i think a 4ft 6 bulb would be fine .... i use a 4ft 12 bulb fixture in my 4x4 tent ..
or you could simply buy a coulpe of single flouresent 2 ft tubes and use them for seed starting{ only good for about 6" in height then will stop growing} since u wanna go hydro and use hids ...

try again and use flouresent bulbs for veg or TLEAST UNTIL THE FIRST 2 FANS LEAVES GROW THEN USE MH WITH A FAN
SECOND NEVER TRANSPLANT SO YOUNG { GIVE IT AT LEAST TWO WEEKS - 14 DAYS }
AND THIRD I NEVER DID HYDRO GROW ONCE AGAIN BUT WHEN YOU FIRST TRANSPLANT INTO HYDRO CONTAINERS U ARE SUPPOSED TO ONLY USE CLONING SOLUTION ........
AT THIS POINT ALL U WANT TO HAPPEN IS ROOT GROWTH , UNTILL U SEE THAT THEY NEED FERT ONLY GIVE CLONING SOLUTION... IF U MUST FEED FEED THROUGH THE LEAVES ,
AS U PROBABLY WOULDENT NOTICE A DIFFERENCE ANYWAY BECAUSE THEY WOULD BE IN SOME SORT OF SHOCK AND FEEDING THROUGH THE ROOTS WILL NOT MAKE ANY BETTER...

AND FOR YA FIRST GROW U SPENT A LIL PENNY,
START FROM BASICS ,FOUNDAMENTALS .IF YOU DID U WOULD NOT HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM U WOULD HAVE LAUGHED AT THE IDEA OF DOING SO....
BUT KEEP IT UP .
SORRY TO LET YOU KNOW THIS BUT YA GONNA MESS UP ALOT SO DONT GET BENT OUTTA SHAPE AND WANNA QUITE ...
AS THEY SAY GROWINGS THE EASY PART THERES STILL DRYING AND CURING { WHICH IS WHERE THE PROBLEMS COME FOR ME...)
YOUR FINISHED PRODUCT WILL LOOK SMELL AND TASTE LIKE SHIT IF U DONT DRY AND CURE RIGHT..FAIR WARNING CAUSE NOBODY WARNED ME, I DIDNT THINK IT WAS A SPECIAL WAY TO DRY AND MY PLANTS DRIED TO FAST WHICH LEFT ME WITH BUD THAT WENT FROM STINK AS HELL TO HAVING NO SMELL ... AND THAT IS A WASTE OF THREE AND A HALF MONTHS ... ANY WAY THERES YA WARNING , READ READ READ SOME MORE ..
CHECK YOUR PH REGULARLY.
I WENT A COUPLE OF GROWS WITHOUT CHECKING MY PH AT ALL AND HAD GREATTTTTTT RESULTS , BUT WHEN I CHECKED MY PH I SAW THAT MY WATER PH WAS WAYYYY TO HIGH AND WHEN I ADD FERT IT DROPPED WAYYYYYYYY TO LOW. I MEAN FROM WAY ABOVE 7.0 TO WAY BELOW THE MIN ... DARK GREEN TO DARK RED .. CANT GET ANY WORSE..
NOW THAT I NOW THIS I CAN HELP BUT TO WONDER WHAT KINDA RESULTS NI CAN GET WITH PROPER BALANCE ..

really ,way to long u have ya plant roots swimming in water.. It needs to breath ,thats the thing that makes hydro hydro, root airation and straight feeding to the roots ...
And im sure your supposed to use a low doesage of fert during hydro since theyre constantly being feed,lol
check your dosage and try 30 min on 30 min off for ya sprayer
thats a more normal time setting..
Its what i use on my cloning machine and a cloning machine is the same exact thing as a hydro system just smaller .
Usually takes 10 -15 days to root should probably take 7 -10 days to see results once u move from soil to hydro pot but thats only if u have a good root system already
