Hello all

I have 2 each clones G13,NYCD,Durbin Poison,Blue Berry, I planted on the 20th of December I planted the well rooted clones in Fox Farms Ocean Forrest soil in 4 gal pots, I watered and I have them in my veg room under a Sun Blaze t-5 8 bulb 40,000 lumen light in the 3000K spectrum. temp stays about 74 and humidity is 37%

I ordered 6400K bulbs will be here next Friday and will mix 3000k and 6400k for full spectrum VEG.

For the first week I had the light about 3'-4' above the plants then in week 2 I dropped the light about 12" over the tops of the clones.

They are showing great signs of new growth and the blueberry was laying down on the day I planted it now upright and growing fine .

BUT the leaves that were there when I planted the clones are dying off mt durbin poison lost 3 leaves they curled up and just died (I included pics ) and some other leaves are showing signs of yellowing spots turning to brown(again please see pics)

Also the tips of the leaves are yellow I am guessing that is from the soil being to hot (to much ferts in it) and maybe thats the problem with the yellow spots.
but not sure.

I have Fox Farms ferts but have not used them yet becuase Ocean Forrest soil says it can carry plants for one month.

Any input on what might be the problem or is it just shock from the HOT soil?

Again they are standing straight up and show lots of new growth it just seems the vegitation that was there when I planted them is dieing off and not all just some of leaves.

Thanks for the help in advance

I think you'll be OK once you get those 6400 K tubes, 3000 K isn't a good grow light on it's own. I agree it was probably a nute burn, I'd flush that soil with a LOT of warmish water.

What nutrients are you using???what % are you mixing???....and you need the light 4-5 inches above the plants to keep them from stretching....

No Ferts, They were hydro clones when I got em and thru em in Fox Farm Ocean Forrest soil. The soil will support plants for 1 month they are just 2 weeks old .

Thanks

Have you flushed them as frmrboi suggested? You should try flushing them with a lot of water. By a lot I mean like three to four times the total volume of the containers the afflicted plants are in. See what happens and if nothing does then it could be anything: pH imbalance, a lock-out, or it could be something else entirely. You did mention they had healthy new growth, right?

In any event, take frmrboi's advice and flush them with the warm water. Well, not too warm -- just not ice cold.

FLUSH EM? NAW I aint gonna flush em they have only been in the soil for like 12 days I have only had to water once and it was straight PH'ed water, no ferts I do think the soil is alittle hot but as the plants grow they will even the ferts out they have already grown like 3 " and thats under 3000k t-5's .

I dont know it all but dont you think Flushing is alittle extreme when no ferts have been added to the FFOF soil?

Anyone else got input in this.

Thanks

What is the npk of the soil???? I don't think it's too hot , Mg soil claims to sustain plants for three months..and I have seen some fine plants grown in this soil , I don't recomend it personaly because I have'nt had good luck with it.....that being said, It looks to me like you have a nute deficiency...I suggest feeding 1/4 strength nutes....burns are bright yellowish-orange and are on the tips and serrations of the leaves....you have entire leaves yellowing and some have splotching....I say def.....................

Ok I did a soil test and the soil ph is 7.0 Nuetral so I am good there, however I decided to test my water and it was alittle low like 6.0!

I just fill up some Milk jugs and let em sit with the cap off and when I did my outdoor grow last year every time I watered the water would test 6.8 so I just quit testing my ph in the water. Well guess the water changed becuase it tested 6.0

SO I HAVE A PH Problem? EVEN THOUGH THE SOIL TESTED 6.8-7.0 ?

So here is what I did, I added Fox Farms Fert using the 2nd wk of veg chart. Then tested the PH of the water it was 6.5-6.8 I gave each clone thats planted in 4 gal pots a 1/4 gallon of water each .

I am hopping the plants will take in the nuets before lock out if not better in about 3-4 days I will flush em .

Anyone got any input what do yall think will this work? anyone with previous exp.?

Thanks

have you checked your runoff ph????? and I wouldn't use recommended dosage...I use botanicare pro gro at 1/4 strength to start...recommended dosages are way to high.....

I personally wouldn't have gone for the nutes right away until further diagnosis. You may be on the right track, though. I'd have tried an incredibly diluted mixture sprayed on the leaves, tops and undersides, before putting anything in the soil though. Not too late for that option, either. It'll get to the afflicted areas a little quicker than through the roots, too.

I hope everything goes as planned and they turn out all right.

i grow with the t-5 grow pioneer sunleave....i put my guys about 4-2 inches from the the light.....then i bend all of them multiple times so thatall of the plants can get the light to the side/lower areas of the plant....my plants end up looking like little bushes......only about a foot tall and about 1 1/2 ft wide this has worked well for me on many occasions...:-)

oh yeah i dont use nutes until about a week to two weeks after putting my clone in the fox farm soil......and i only use nutes if the little guy is looking health enough.....if its not looking well let the soil COMPLETELY dry out...like 7-9 days then water with pure water......it should bounce back then you can begen nutes like normal

Wow ! I get up this morning and go take a look and I sware the plants grew an 1" overnight the leaves are all standing at attention and the color looks great on most of the plants and the yellow splotching is getting lighter not darker!

Is this like the Calm before the storm ? Or could I have just made the right decission and it worked that fast? anyway I will keep yall posted but so far very happy with what I did with adding the nuets.

I will get pics up today, I am Stoked!

Well here are pics they are thriving already about 12" tall and bushy the few leaves that were to far gone continued to die off and a few still are but all the new growth looks great and healthy. How long should I let em go before I take clones? Another 2 weeks?

Also check out my 2 moms almost 4 weeks into flowering NICE! the plants are like 4' tall! They still got 4-5 weeks left gonna be tall plants. :weed: Its Super Silver haze on the left and Purple Kush on the right

Thanks 4personaluse
