Please please help sos mayday mayday!!!

Hey guys,

my setup is this,
6ft by 6ft room
600w HPS light ....60cm from plant tops
10 plants in trays underneath in soil medium, high nute value, ph 6.5 - 7.0
Nutes, organic 8-7-0 being watered with daily
seeds unknown but assuming they are indicas due to wide leaves. They are two and a half weeks old and already 5 inches in length, very bushy.
They have had no dark periods and been under 24hr light so far....

BUT

The leaves on two plants are curling up and down and some leaves have even folded colpletely and drying,
PH is fine, watered once a day, but not sure whether light is too close or pottasium too low??
is 24hr light wrong?

hope you can help guys
:o

thanks
FRED

sup rhino,

ye they have a fan blowing on them constantly, oscillating. Not too strong.

i was told i couldnt overfertilise with organic nutes?... and also, i have to add the nutes to tap water to lower the PH from 8.0 down to neutral...

could the light be too close?
its a powerful lamp....

(thanks for replying btw)

You don't want your Ph neutral!
You want it slightly acidic.
6.3-6.8 is recommended for soil.
I would say shoot for 6.5 and if your close, your good.
You are watering toooo often.
Only water when your pots start feeling light.
Only give nutes sparingly and maybe once a week during veg.
Although you could probably get away with no nutes at all for most of the veg cycle (depending on soil).
I would give the girls a rest as well.

My recommendation is this,
Start an 18/6 schedule
Keep Ph close to 6.5
Water only when pots are light but not bone-dry. (Practice)
Don't give alot of nutes(no more for about a week). Light is the food
Patience is key.(You'll have to wait for improvement to show)

im thinking since you mentioned they are showing signs of heat stress, and drying up, that they are being underwatered which makes them more susceptible to heat stress, so try watering a bit more

I use a product called Ph Down.
It's an acid base and lowers Ph(It takes a very small amount for big changes).
You can find it at any Hydro store.

Also you could just add some R/O water to your tap water untill Ph levels get into range.

It looks to me like your leaves are actually twisting.
This is a sign of a nute def. BUT, when Ph levels are at 7.0 there is a "nute lockout".
Which means that the roots cannot absorb the nutes even if they are there!

the PH in the soil is slightly lower than 7 but the water is 7.....u dont think the light is giving them heat stress then? cos this has happened gradually since i inserted HPS 600w and two plants have got worse...the others are slowly following

Reverse Osmosis water.
Do you have any water dispensaries in your area?
Usually 1.25 for 5 gallons around here.
These usually are R/O water.
