Please recommend a strain that is very short, with a good yield.

I've grown:
Pineapple Express
LSD
Kings Kush
Nebula
Wappa
Amnesia
Blue Cheese
GDP
Purple Wreck
Tangerine Dream

and countless others in my quest to find a strain that is short, bushy, easy to care for (hearty, hard to burn, etc). The Pineapple Express is by far the most resistant to issues strain I have ever grown. You'd have to try and kill that strain for it to go wrong. It just gets a bit too tall. I'm looking for under 3 feet.

Kings Kush, Tangerine Dream are both super sensitive. If a solar flare struck the earth the kings kush would kill over. That has to be the most touchy strain I've ever tried to work with. You can breathe on kings kush incorrectly and kill it.

So far I love GDP by Connoisseur's Genetics. They are out of stock on that GDP though and have been for a long time. I don't think they'll ever get it back in. :(

So, I'm thinking I might try something like GDP x with Cheese, by the same company. They have a lot of crosses with their GDP. Any recommendations?

I've tried Purple Wreck (GDP x Trainwreck). Not impressed. It's highly sensitive and these strains weren't meant to be mixed.

I think its best to stick to something that is as close to 100% indica as I can get.

Any input?

I wanted to stick with fem. seeds. I've also heard CG's GDP is actually better than Ken's. I don't know how much better it could be because honestly if that GDP was available I wouldn't be posting lol. It was a fantastic strain.

Its available ... its just Attitude who have run out.

Thanks for the recommendation about CG. I'll have to give theirs a try someday soon.

edit:

just tried looking for it and it seems you're right. i can't find CG GDP. WTF LOL

Next Gen - Timewarp

Have finished this plant in 45 days. Mostly Cloudy, with some Amber. (you can go much longer for more yield of course)
Stretches 50%, meaning it doesnt even double in flower.

mites dont touch it. very easy to grow.

about a year ago, I Got 32g from one under a 120w LED when I was generally averaging 22g/plant(dry) under 600w. (sea of green)
this plant was bred for outdoor/greenhouse i believe, so it will thrive.

this michigan weather is rough...very moist and humid and foggy ...and the cold temps at night are brutal on most strains...hope timewarp can handle the weather...because the shit I have now is moving way too slow.

Indeed. The mid september claim for harvest outdoor is a claim I am willing to believe. (pheno dependant)
So i think it will fit in well here in michigan.

I really want to try Green House Seeds Kalashnikova. The yield on that strain is incredible. GHS's recorded over 1,000 grams wet from one plant. It's AK47 x with White Widow. They are also out of stock on them. :(

Everything I want is out of stock, lol.

Eh, most companies bullshit when they say the yield is such n such. and that number is probably hydro and scrogged and vegged for 2 months..yield is not a problem with almost every strain..the yield will be there if grown healthy ad happy..the finish time and mold/mildew resistant is what is more important to me.

If your trying to stay under 3 feet, I'd go with an auto flowering strain as most only grow 1 to 2 feet. A 'pure' Indica strains will get about 5 to 6 feet and Sativas average about 8 to 12 feet. However, you can use methods like crowning and root pruning on any Indicas, Sativas, or hybrid. If your new to root pruning, take a look at Air pots and Smart Pots or even pond baskets as these will do most of the pruning for you.

I already use Smart Pots. I've been using them for a long time.

I've never had an indica get that tall on me. Maybe outside those numbers are accurate.

I've seen sativa's get huge even inside. I stay away from sativas in general for that reason.

Green House Seeds showed the plant in the grow video. It was in soil and under a 1000 watt HPS. They do a pretty controlled grow review of their products.

I believe the strain can determine yield. I've dabbled with enough, actually, I've grown something new each time. It's amazing how different each strain of cannabis really is.

I think the point is "we grew it, and got this" isnt really an accurate measure of a plants yield.
it can be quite deceiving. especially when you likely are not going to get the same keeper than they did.

they should stick to like an average/medium/heavy yield scale if anything.

Sure some strains put out more than others but any strain is capable of producing plenty...I don't care for greenhouse seeds...they probably had to grow 300 plants to get that one diamond in the rough and make a video...don't like those odds....if you want them short ..why not just plant later in the year so it short veg time?

That Green House grow video actually used a 600 watt HPS I believe. The Kalashnikova seems to be one of Green Houses better strains. Everyone I've seen grow it out has had massive yields and are very pleased with the overall quality.

Take a look at "Posh" by Cash Crop Ken. I'm putting this strain into my room in the next grow or two... the yield looks fantastic!
