There is not a place within 30 miles that sells fox farm products as walk in and buy.. gt order and wait a week .. I need stuff now I really have to transplant like yesterday.. anyways can someone please help. My zipcodes 07419 in NJ if it helps show stores near me w soil products.. places by me are Home Depot, Lowes, a crappy non super walmart, and that is really about it... and a tractor supply co. Can somebody please give me a good potting mix to transplant my plants in theyre 3 weeks old (pics at end).. or a checklist w/ everything I need to make my own .. a simple maybe 5 or 6 item list ..all in one of the stores. I would forever be grateful. Thank you!20200711_032533.jpg

Home Depot or Lowes should have some kind of organic potting soil. Look for ones that say feeds for 60 days not the ones that say 6 months.
I’ve personally used Natures Care Organic Potting Soil. Solid green bag.

anything organic and isn’t loaded with a ton of chemicals. Even if you’re not growing organic I would still start with this type of soil.

lowes sells pro mix, which is peat moss and works better with synthetic nutes
I wasn’t sure what his nutrient plan is and he will be good for approx 20-30 days with Nautres care depending environment.

If you’re setup with your nutrients get the promix and start adding. If you’re not get the organic that’s good for 20-30 days. That will give you some time to figure out nutrients.

Either way you need a decent ph pen also.

Ok so I am going to https://77hydro.com/ on monday and I was just wondering as a first time grower what would best medium be for me to get that would be most forgiving as I really do not have much time or money to spend on additives.. and would rather the plants not drop dead from a missed feeding or something..

I haven't been there since they had the move to the new place. But that was the best hydro store I have been to......actual real honest advice and always had everything and I mean everything! But last time was maybe 2012 so I don't know who's still working there. Would be cool to go back! Bought my first nft from there back around maybe 2000...it was a display that was running....I wanted it bad....they said it would be a bitch to clean. I didn't listen.....shit grew awesome but the roots packed up the system........it was a bitch to clean I shoulda listened lol.......before that I bought my first magnetic switchable ballest and light from one of the guys that worked there.......I still run that hood.

Roots organic soil
Fox farm ocean forest

would be my top two

no matter what you choose they all need maintenance. Some more than others.
Ff ocean forest was what I was looking for.. a little leery of it.. heard it can cause nute burn.. and my plants are going from nutrientless seedling mix to that.. may be a nutrient shock type effect I fear... like not eating all day and then shoveling a massive meal down

Well the soil is hot for seedlings not for something your size.

I’ve been using Golf Green organic (1-1-1) from Canadian tire. Very happy with the results so far. Peat moss, compost, perlite, and I mixed in some mycorrhizae and blood meal. Babes are loving it.
