I mean im all for sustainability but your not going to stop commercial nurseries from using it. your not going to stop the 19-4-23 guys from dumping sunshine mix after every grow. Nor are you going to stop FFOF from being dumped every grow.

An argument could be made that you dont care about the environment if you live in a house, eat beef, or drive a car. You can do a lot more for the environment by being vegan and homeless with out a car then stopping using peat. Id argue that maybe instead of telling people to not use peat, teach how to reuse said peat for years to come. Teach how to make leaf mold and use a composter. I bought peat based soil and have been growing in it for 7 years. Teach that shit.

Birch and aspen leaves winter in mine. Garden rake through it in Spring breaks them up if needed and gets any roots out. Those get tossed further back on the heap to go through again.

I am all for protecting the environment, but I'm going to be sad when I can't get promix hp anymore. I love it. Probably be back to rDWC for me at that point.

Hell yeah. I collect Pinoak and Maple here. nice mix of the 2. Maple breaks down faster then the oak, but the oak is more robust in its texture. Mix that 50/50 with compost and its perfect.

There's a product I saw on Shark Tank called Pittmoss. It's shredded recycled paper and cardboard and supposed to replace perlite, peat moss and coco. Pitt is in the name because it's made in a suburb of Pittsburgh. They have a raised bed in front of the factory with straight pre fertilized Pittmoss in it and they were some of the healthiest veggies I ever saw.
