Im using a soil thats been treated with fertilizer for 3 months,,when i transplant in 2 weeks,into bigger pots i want to CHANGE my soil to miracle gro,,,can i do this,??? it wont shock the plant being rooted in scotts,,then putting it in miracle gro,,,help!!! or do i need to stick with scotts now the whole way through?? help me!

sorry I dont have a definitive answer. But I would stay with the same soil all the way through. thats just me though.

Should not hurt...I have gone from miracle grow to Scotts without issue. Just need to watch the nutes. I typically re-pot then wait about a week and go 1/4 strength and work up to 1/2 progressively. I have not had any issue with switching soils though I do prefer the Scotts over the MG.

the only reason i want to switch is my scotts has food in it for 4 months,,,,so i want to put it in regular soil when i transplant,,proboblt miiacle gro,,then start adding nutes very weak ,,a week later can i do this???? im waiting on an answere im dressed and read to go to homedepot to buy more stuff cheers,

I would use a soil that does not have any food in it. so you can dictate how much food goes in. That time release food makes it impossible to know your nutrient level.

i personally would stay away from any miracle grow products, if you can find fox farm products (which are hard to find sometimes depending on you area) then get those..those are the best, other wise stick to another basic soil or potting mix that is not miracle grow:joint:

When you transplant into a different soil it can sometimes take a little longer to get past the shock and begin to go back to growing that's all. It's no big deal.

I have a HH rollin through, its been a month now with atleast two sets of fan leaves that are mature, its about 5 to six inches in height, do you guys think its at a good growin pace? also theres little leaves growing out where the stem and the fan leaves meet, does this mean that its going to branch out? honest answer would be wise thank you

What day are you in veg? I would not recommend going to any MG products unless you go with MG Organic, which has no ferts in it. If you are anywhere near flower stay away from anything except organic and just use your flowering nutes.

It's not best to grow in MG because of the nutes as someone said. When you add your own nutes you may end up killing them with the combination of both nutes becoming to strong.

from all I have gatherd it would be best to go with organic soil with no nutes and get ur self nutes to add in your self. By doing this you can control how much you feed and if something does go wrong you can flush it. With MG soil, you can't really flush.

i know but im asking if its too late i got 2 nice plants up now,,,when i transplant in a week or 2,,
1) continue with the same scotts potting soil good for 4 months (that ive been using)
2) transplant it into an organic soil or normal commercial soil (usually good for a month)

Il be careful with adding the nutes for new growth when i transplant,and doing it slowely. but what course of action is better??

and no brown or yellow leaves my plants are healthy dark green,,only 12 13 days old,,but awesome looking,,

yeah sounds fine...does it say it includes nutrients or food on the front? if so stay away..also stay away if its any type of miracle grow product.:joint:

so is it ok for me to switch to a normal soil...without 4 months weed when i transplant,,,,,i mean should i do that?????so then i can use my foxfarm nutes as soon as i see its growing again?? or continue with the soil with 4 months of food???i started this thread for that answere !!! lol
