I can't seem to figure out why but my babies (I just started trying to figure out how to do this) seem to be turning yellow. I just added additional lighting, they are about 2.5 weeks old the larger ones are turning yellow but only a few of them, a couple are still green. I have noticed that the leaves on the "older" of my plants are starting to curl down. I don't think I have been over watering them I always check the soil near the bottom of the pot to make sure it feels dryish before watering them and the pots have holes incase of over water. I have had them in 24 hour light for the last 2.5 weeks with a fan on them 24/7. The temp is around 70F and humidity around 60%. You will see in the pictures a couple different ages of plants the ones that I am having trouble with are the larger ones. Is it normal to lose a few plants along the way?

Thank you for your help in advance

Now the worst one

you might want to go with a better growing medium..the one you are using looks like "regular" dirt
try using a soilless mix...i like using Sunshine LC 1 mix...its mostly peatmoss and perlite real airy
and course it drains and retains water very well

Okay so I should increase lighting the current lighting has aprox 5400 lumes, should I eliminate some of the plants as well? Also I will pick up some good dirt tonight, is it best to remove them right from the soil their in and transplant or to start over?

you can probably salvage those plants. how many you end up growing is up to you and nature. if you start over you really arent losing that much, some less than healthy plants that you can replace easily in 2 weeks and be right back on track, with healthier plants in better soil, with better lighting. you could just transplant them into better soil and add lights. you may not be familiar with Y splitters but they are your friend if your growing with cfls, you can add more lights to your original sockets, cheaply. you can find them at any home improvement store for 2-3 dollars normally. i would recommend fox farm soil, if you can get it. or fafard or miracle grow if you have to.

Im using a 150 wt hps combined with a 100 wt mh and a 30 wt cfl all for one blueberry clone.she is about 4 weeks into flowering ill be posting pics as soon as i get a hold of my digi. cam...i honestly think she can still use more lighting...Also Foxfarm nutes is what i use in combo with some of GREENVILLES SEATEA it has seaweed, seakelp, fish and crab emulsion along with molasis

Alright well I took the advice on the lighting as you can see in the pics I have added another 2 100w folo's for about a total of 8500 lumes (5 bulbs). I also lowered the lights to see if that would help as suggested. I went to the local hardware store (as we don't have a grow shop or nursery handy) They carry a MG mostiure control soil that "feeds" the plant for 3 months and is mostly organic. Does this qualify as "good"? I also saw another Scotts that was just organic indoor planting soil. Not sure which to grab but i"m sure anything is better than what I have going right now.

Thanks!:peace::peace::joint:

MG moisture control is pretty decent soil. i used it with my clones. they took to it well enough.
Sounds good i'm going to pick up a bag and give it a try, it has to be better than the rocky crap I am currently using. Did you continue to add nutes to it or was the nutes "included" enough?

:peace:

WATER them. your soil is dry and pulling away from the pots. even seedlings need water. i know you hear on here all the time about over watering but there is a happy medium. but the y need water for sure!!!!

good luck.

i add nutes later, its fine for 6 weeks easy, then i start in with the nutes. although if i see any nut. defs. i would start earlier.

well they are finally "okay" for now. I changed the soil to the MG moisture control and added more lights and moved the plant buckets up a bit closer to the light. Also added A/C to the room to lower the temp as it was 80 - 85 in the grow area. If anyone has any other suggestions please feel free

I'm very new but read and read and then read some more. try starting them off in a damp to wet paper towel then transferring the sprouted seeds to a soilless growing medium ie: rockwool, peat pods, etc... After the roots grow out of your medium, then transfer to a larger pot and then a soil - potting soil mix if you like the "dirt" way as I do.

So day by day I'm seeing little changes and healthier plants. Been getting a ton of advice from livelife8345 thanks so much man :hump: Yesterday I put a/c in the room and today added some vents to the set up today and also last night switched to a 18/6 as opposed to the 24 hour light I had been running. The plants seem to be taking well to the soil and I am seeing new growths on the tops. I think I'm going to ditch some of the plants.....(some had said I had to many going YOUR RIGHT!) have to wait a little longer to see which ones look the best. Damn no wonder kids around here charge so much for smoke this is no overnight process lol. Well I'm going to stick with it heres a few pics for you all thoughts comments??

dust in this one from cutting the holes for venting, I think they’ll be okay though wood is really old and dry no pest problems. I figure it will eventully blend in with the soil I did however cover the plants while I was cutting to not get any dust on the plants

more venting

This one is starting to look a little prettier was almost dead is the red stem anything to worry about?
