PLS HELP BETTER LIGHT VS BETTER TEMPS?

THE GROW IS IN SOIL SAGE N SOUR STRAIN IS MOSETLY SATIVA

HEATS BEEN AT 79.5 F OR LESS IN THE TENT I HAVE 140W LED I SURROUNDED IT WITH 4 28W CFLS 2700K FOR FLWR THE LIGHTS ARE OBOUT 1 FT -1 1/2 FT FROM CANOPY THE CFLS HANG DOWN AN EXTRA 6 INCHES SPRINGS HERE HEAT IN TENT ROSE TO ABOUT 82-83F ABOVE THE CANOPY OF THE PLANTS ON GROWWEEDEASY.COM SHE SAYS 80F AND ABOVE SLOWS GROWTH TEMPS ONLY RISE FROM THIS TIME ON
IM NOT SURE HOW MUCH IM BENEFITTING FROM THE CFLS BECAUSE THEY ARE ABOUT 1 FT FROM PLANTS THEY SHOULD B ABOUT 4 INCHES FROM PLANT HOWEVER I HEARD LEDS ARE LACKING SOMETHING WHEN CFLS ARE ADDED EVERYTHING IS TAKEN CARE OF CURRENTLY I HAVE NO WAY OF KEEPING THEM AT DIFFERENT DISTANCES AS THE ONLY WAY I HAVE TO HANG THEM NOW IS ON THE LED FIXTURE ITSELF TIED ON IF I ONLY HAVE 2 CFLS IT SEEMS AUKWARD AND UNEAVEN LIGHTING SOMEPLANTS WILL HAVE CFLS ON THEM AND SOME WONT

WELL FANS/VENT R ON WHATS BETTER SHUT THE CFLS AND B LEFT WITH ONLY 140W OF LIGHT OR LEAVE THE CFL LIGHTS AND HAVE THE EXTRA 112 WATTS AND EXTRA LUMENS AND DONT WORRY ABOUT THE HIGH TEMPS?
WHEN PUSH COMES TO SHOVE 112 MORE LIGHT WATTAGE BUT TEMPS 82 & ABOVE VS 112W LESS LIGHT BUT TEMPS AT 76 -77F?

The temp wouldn't scare me too much if you have good air flow. But I am not sure you are gettng value from cfls so far away....

I grow all LED under 160w. Not getting monstrous yields but also never in need of weed.

You could add some Cree LED normal bulbs instead of cfl.

In a perfect world, pot thrives at temps between 70 and 85. Above that it slows, and at 90 and above it starts to struggle. If you can keep temps below 90 at the canopy, they will be fine. Fans are definitely needed, and adding a supplement like Silica Boost will help to reduce stress caused by adverse conditions such as heat. I personally would go for more light, and keep the flaps open as long as you can. When the plant starts to smell during bloom, dump the CFL's, and start to vent through charcoal. That is the approach I would take. Peace

Oh, yeah. To the OP.
Any Sativa IS a light hog......the more you can supply the better. Pony up for some more LED power as that may be your best shot, if I read your needs as to heat concerns. Look around at the differing brands out there. Google is a great tool. I'll bet you can find something out there to fill your light range (Nanometer) needs.

Definitely go for light. Your temps are nothing to be too stressed about however you either need to get your cfl's closer or move your plant closer to them as it almost seems like wasted electric being that far, you can keep a 600w hps that distance. Also with LED's, they do not create heat either so I'm at a loss as to where you are getting all this heat from. I have a setup with 2 600w, 2 90w ufo and 2 20w strip fluorescent lights and temps hold about 26-29C. My plants literally touch both the strip lights and leds with no burning.

The CFL's IMO are not causing the heat... and for sure just get them closer...
or like you already know, they are a waste, and I veg with CFL...2-3" away....
better air flow... the area between the lights and plant tops needs to be kept an eye on...
It will be 4-7 degrees hotter, and 4-7 RH points lower... in everyone's grow area....
Heat rises, RH drops... So you are smart to be concerned...
Move the air at the canopy top, some how....

ITS ABOUT 90F OUTSIDE ALREADY IN MIDDLE EAST NO A/C LAST GROW LIGHTS WERE 2 INCHES FROM PLANTS NO PROB SAME STRAIN BUT LOWER TEMPS OUTSIDE MY LED MAKES ABOUT 3-4 DEG INCREASE THE 4 CFLS PRODUCE A A LITTLE BIT MORE THAN THAT NOW THAT I KNOW TEMPS COULD BE HIGHER I CAN LOWER MY LIGHTS TO THE PLANTS FOR THE TIME BEING BUT IF IT GETS HOTTER OUTSIDE WHATS BETTER THE WAY IT IS OR LESS LIGHT AND OPTIMUM TEMPS?

I HAVE A CLIP FAN ON THE LEAVES AND A VENT ON TOP THE BOTTOM DUCT FLAP OF THE TENT IS WIDE OPEN DURING LIGHT HRS AND LITTLE OPEN DURING DARK DARK HRS-NO PROB

The more light you can stuff in there the better off they'll be.. but I'd work on getting some more airflow as well. Good luck!

First off, where are you exhausting. What you are saying isn't clear. And turn off the caps, it is hard for we old geezers to read.

You want a vent open all the time. You can rig something to keep light out for flower. I use a bug light 30 pack box with some screen on the end.

You want a fan exhausting out air. This is a bit of a capital investment as you also want a carbon filter or your house will smell.

Inside the tent, you need to be the judge. You want air circulating around the plants, them leaves lightly blowing in a breeze. I like using a tower fan that oscillates as it moves air from a larger area vertically. I keep mine on low and it runs 24-7.

1 vents open all the time & fan exhausting out air runs 24-7
2 its exausting from the top of the tent into my room were the tent is i cant run ducting
3 can i get a pic to see how u use a bug light 30 pack box with some screen on the end.to keep light out?

5 my house only smelled the last grow during last 2 wks of flower the oni gel seemed to me that it worked so far for sage n sour
6 a tower fan that oscillates would b great but no room in the tent the tent currently has wall to wall canopy bsides the whole tent is only 2x2 ft
7 on the bottom of my tent theres a sleeve for an incoming fan if i wanted that sleeve is what i call the flap i make sure its wide open during the day bec it causes majpor temp diff but at dark i let it flap down seeling out any light during dark its 65-71 f seems fine 2 me at dark

tryed to get Silica Boost will help to reduce stress caused by adverse conditions such as heat but in my country couldnt find it shipping costs are outragious is there something else u like it?

Good to know what your temps are but if the plants look happy then go on that rather than what the temps are.

Just make sure that you have good air flow and air movement with 12" oss fans i no longer have a temp gage in my room pointless if they look happy then so am i,its only ever put in the room to check humidity during flowering for a couple of days.

But i leave a temp gage in the room 24/7 during drying because i like to see the humidity go down the dryer the bud get's,
It can drive ya mad ph ec temps so i just did what a old friend told me if they look happy then they are so go on how they look rather
than the temps.

The only reading important to me is the ec
