Poking Nugs With a Small Pin?

Hrm. I'd love your opinion. Couldn't find anything on this yet but then again I AM a lazy stoner bahaha. bongsmilie Supposedly this increases potency. Caught my man poking my Outdoor Elephant tops :cuss: and they just don't seem as big as I'd think. *Reminder* this is my first grow.

No replies? :( I was so excited to register here and no love so far. Poo. LOL. Come on people. Poking nuggies as they are flowering???? I made him stop haha but I'd love some input :)

Never heard of this before. I have heard of similar things, basically, stressing a plant near the end of its life cycle can cause a last burst of resin production. The most common is 72 hours of darkness before harvest.

Years ago people also believed things like driving a nail through the stem, watering with ice water would stress the plant into producing resin.

Thanks for responding maaan :) omg driving a nail through the stem! LOL whoooobuddy. I've been stress training them their whole cycle :). And I have to say, the outdoor elephant is pretty resonated already, only halfway through!

do not poke the buds! poking the buds puts stress on the plant. the plant then takes longer to grow because it has to heal its wounds. DO NOT DO THAT!

yeah, this seems like an odd practise. the idea is that you want to stress the *whole* plant. personally i don't think poking them with a pin would do much of anything, good OR bad.

Thanks ya'll :) Pretty sure he's through poking the nugs...He hasn't done it since he came clean. Good news is they are doing great! I'll be posting pictures soon.
