aryt ive had a police holicopter flying over and near by my house ive a 400w in a grow tent is der any chances that they are able to see it???:wall:

probably but helicopters use up alot of gas and cops have to get paid a pretty penny and theres probably atleast 3 guys in that heliciopter so i doubt they want to LOSE money just to stop your 400 watt grow, al capone... LOL

Doubtful, even if they did that's not enough evidence to charge you with anything.

Helicopters don't use gas, they use jet fuel. It's MUCH more expensive.

completely disagree. A thread like this was posted SEVERAL years ago... we got into all the legality of the subject. A IR heli CAN see ur 400w, but its ILLEGAL for them to even use the technology without a search warrent. There has been cases where individuals were busted VIA IR heli, but was thrown out in court. The problem is, the person busted had to pay legal fees and had his name ruined in his/her community for the whole thing, although he/she was not convicted.

The supreme court ruled it ILLEGAL for this type of action without a search warrent.

if you are cooling your room with AC, this reduces the heat sink... also look into Poly shield (there is a reason some of the BIG growers on these forums are still around all these years)

As this video correctly points out if you vent your setup out a suspicious place or have your grow filling an entire room the window/vent will glow BRIGHT. and all the other houses in the area will make you look suspicious. simply keeping enclosed tents inside a larger room WITH A/C will prevent windows from glowing.


This link points out many simple safety measures that will make IR cameras useless against you. if you will notice they used FACTORIES they are looking for large multi thousand watt setups. not small 400watt personal grows. I used this thread to design my setup due to the only partial legality in my area

good question tho. I have a 1000 wat vented into the attic. Summer time im not worried but I just thought... my attic will be hot when others are cold in the winter :(
