I understand you like their version of tax and spend better, I may even agree, but that's not what we are talking about. We are talking about fiscal conservatives. If you think you can borrow your way out of debt or simply increase taxes (which takes money out of the pocket of the private sector) you do not fall into the category of fiscally responsible. Call names all you like, it doesn't change this simple fact.
If you follow Krugman and his ilk as the vast majority of politicians do, you will find they think fiscal conservatives are ruining the country.
Now tell me again who you think is fiscally conservative?
Paul Ryan's Roadmap for American Prosperity is actually a plan that not only reduces deficit, it eliminates debt over time. You will undoubtedly disagree with the plan, but it's an example if you want to actually see an example of fiscal conservative. An extreme example would have been Ron Paul.

There are two major economic schools of thought in politics, the Austrian and the Keynesian. If there are any politicians that follow Austrian in principle, they have not followed in actions. I understand you like the versions of Keynesian that some spout over others, but they are not examples of fiscal conservatism. From reading your posts, you are in the Krugman camp that would riot under true fiscal conservative leadership. I don't know why this makes you so upset that it's not really fiscally conservative just because you like it, but if you read Krugman you will find out fiscally conservative is "evil".
Hyak vs Keynes is the philosophical argument. This is jr high level explanation, but it's entertaining.
The economy isn't using Keynesian theory, they are just using "Print Money" theme and blaming Keynes. Keynes warned that "printing" too much would be a problem. He also had a theory that human psychology can direct markets. Most economists dismiss the psychology of humans in their models.
When I think Austrian I think more Ludwig Von Mises than F.A.Hayek. Hayek was a damn thinker, Mises understood it all so much better from a much better viewpoint.

prior to the election, i asked her why she wanted to vote that way..she really couldn't say other than "that's who dad wants me to vote for", so i tried to discuss the differences in parties..she didn't want to hear it.
some time later..she asked me who i voted for.. she was so proud to tell me she had voted for obama.
what changed her mind?..mitt is like dad, mom..why would i want dad to run the country?
obama did visit her campus; peer pressure is awesome!

so you agree it is redistribution upwards? because of tax loopholes the wealthy were distributed additional income that should have gone to the government was taxed incorrectly..
but what do we do about offshore funds?

The upward distribution was to the banks and autos. We tolerated the autos a bit more because there were union jobs at stake, not just jobs.
It's still not fiscal conservative magically by changing where the money is redistributed no matter how much @ttystikk throws insults. It's clear by now fiscal conservative to folks here means "doing what I like".
