Can someone explain how you are only allowed to have 6 ounces but also have 4 flowering plants in NM? Do we harvest before its ready to keep under legal limit? I think 6 ounces for 4 plants is a below average harvest for anyone with experience. I probably am misunderstanding....

One way to combat that is dont flower all plants at once. Stagger them out so one plants yield is almost gone by the time another is done. That's just one way to stay in parameters of the law there is many more ways you could work out your problem but staggering your harvest is an easy way to combat your yields.

Seems very complicated.....what should we expect from government. Guess I need to stagger personal use to coincide with staggered growth. Maybe If I get stressed because I am not smoking it fast enough because of a plant that is too happy growing, I can just stay stoned 24/7 till I get the balance back. I can only imagine the fiasco of Obamacare. I guess them having the control and eventually the money from it too, its worth flexing muscle without common sense early. 4 plants but 6 oz's....IDIOTS

ya the law is preatty gray. the law use to even say that a mature flowering plant was any plant that was ither 1 foot tall 1 foot wide or has flowers on it.. lol now it just says any plant with flowers is considered a mature plant. i know that the people that wrote out the specifics for the law were not Cannabis smokers and definetly not growers. so thats why it does not make sense...
are you from the Albuquerque area?

The way it was explained to me by a Bernallio Cty. Sheriff is:

6 Oz. dry, ready to smoke.
Maturing plants don't count, nor do immature (non-flowering) plants (seedlings also don't count against the 6 plants, but don't get stupid about it.)
Oils, preparations (tinctures, honey oil, etc.) don't count against the 6 Oz. limit.

The best way to make sure you are compliant is to talk to LEO in your area.

EDIT: Instead of changing it, I'm adding what the statute says:

6 oz usable; 16 plants (4 mature, 12 immature)

So, 4 in flower (mature) and 12 seedlings/non-flowering.

Again, if you are licensed to grow for yourself, check with the local PD about YOUR limits, and THEIR interpretation of the law.

Good to know about the tincture. Mostly use edibles here.

At least the state is allowing us to legally grow and medicate. That was the first step to show the brainwashed masses that cannabis is not evil. Now we need to be active, working locally and federally, to create better laws surrounding cannabis. Legalization is coming soon, once we figure out how to raise more lobbying money than the corporate prisons.
