So, I am 21 days in veg. Growing in ffof, all organic. 5 x 5 tent. Spiderfarmer sf4000. + King plus led. 8 inch ac infinity inline, 4 fans in the tent circulating air. Today I see this. Temps lights on 80 rh is 60. I have never come down with damping off before and just trying to identify what is going on. All other 7 plants are good, nothing like this. I water every 3 days when bags feel light. Been growing 5 years and not seen this until today. Thanks in advance for your help.

Easy way to tell dab it with a q tip soaked in h2o2. If it fizzes, it's infected with (bad) bacteria or fungus. If there's no fizz it could be numerous things, including the stem just thickening due to bending over, wind, or could have been infected with Rhizoctonia, Pythium, Botrytis, Phytophthora, and/or Fusarium (damping off) before and recovered
'damping off' is usually accompanied by a slimy, weak stem, thinning of the stem, dark brown or black color of the stem, fruiting bodies of fungus, and sometimes, in bad cases, it smells bad too, like your green bin on a hot day :spew:

You are the best! Grabbed 2 quips soaked in h202 and nothing. I feel better about keeping it in the tent with the others. I'll have to keep an eye on it. Just didn't want spores floating around the tent. You kindness and wisdom is very much appreciated! You have enlightened me a lot! Thanks agin.

Np man, just looking to help. Admitted it does look a bit off, so just keep an eye on it. Couple dabs with peroxide here and there won't hurt either way. Is it 'soft' or flexible? Or is it rigid and woody?

It feels sturdy not soft at all. And that's the only place. Kind of looks like a cover around the stem and peeling off. Green at the bottom where soil is and green above that spot.
