possible over/under watering?

Well. I'm now about to be starting week 5 and they are still droopy, but still growing. I have done 2 flushes and switched nutes. And I even added an extra 1000w bulb. No change except now they are turning yellow
My opinion, reading thru this thread and with your pics is that the problem the whole time has only been a slight, most likely constant overwatering, and the stated slightly low ph (I recommend 6.5 for soil) They continue to droop, even though they were flushed (which adds to overwatering if it was already a problem as it takes extra time to dry out a freshly re-saturated pot......), and now showing signs of N shortage.

I agree with IXOYE in a way, but see it as "under-watering is less restrictive/harmful, than over-watering" Over watering, and combined with overfeeding, can cause a whole whack of issues. From starved roots, to root rot, to nute problems, to dead leaves, to bud rot and on and on.
A balanced ph soil/medium, properly balanced in nutes, properly aerated getting slightly overdried generally has fewer to no problems. Rockwool and other certain hydro/aero setups is a little different. Overdrying can be extremely .....not good. lol

I have had nice, deep dark green plants before. And they were gorgeous, and healthy. I have found over N-ing a plant leads to real dark leaves, but almost wax paper appearance. Hard to describe.

That is the way I see it, based on what I have experienced.

Not bad looking plants though.

okay, so i have re-potted. opened the "root ball" slightly on the bottom, allowed for room to grow into new fresh soil (foxfarm OF and MG perlite 2/1). only 2 days ago is when i did this. waiting to see if there are any improvements. here are some pics starting week 6 white rhino

Wow thanx, the answer is zero. This will be my first!! That's why I have been asking all the questions. Lol. But between here and another site I'm on I have managed to get through it so far without doing too terribly bad!! Looks like I might get about 2-3 OZ's a plant. I can live with that :) I'll bet if I can go without all the shocks next go around I will have a better yield. Next run will be MK Ultra, rainbow, and blue Dream. 3 ea. All with AN and I think I'm gonna pick up some bud ignitor too

Again, thanx for the vote of confidence. So what do you guys think of me opening the bottom of the roots before transplanting? Was that a bad idea, or do you think it may be a good thing as the pits were too small to begin with?

Not sure what you mean by "open" the bottom of the roots.

I like to GENTLY "loosen" the roots from the old soil, so they start to grow out into the new soil of the "re-pot" soil easier. Sounds the same to me.

If you transplanted a couple days ago, and those pics are recent, I think you will be just fine.

Very, nice looking plants. MUCH nicer than my first batch years ago. You definitely have the "thumb" and I guarantee, if you just "listen" to your plants (not literally...lol), you will do very well.

I would like to add....

This is a wicked link, probably the best I have found so far for diagnosing plant problems, from overwatering to pests and everything in between.
International Cannagraphic Magazine Forums-Complete Guide to sick plants, pH and pest control

IMO, you should definitely bookmark that link and another here....

(which also has the first link I gave you, I just noticed)

There are other great guides in this forum I suggest browsing as well.

looks like I'm going through the same basic issue... kidn of droopy, claw-ed leaves on the new growth. Did the OP change his watering or anything? Consensus in my thread (below) was that it probably got too hot, combined witha maybe a bit much nitrogen.

On some of my big plants... I'm also wondering if rootlock couldbe at play. I'm using rockwool though, so its a bit different. However, some of the plants just have piles of roots coming out the bopttom of the rockwool, going every which way. Should I do something to ensure the roots are happy or in hydro/rockwool does it not matter?

Thanks. Very good guide, but I always suggest taking in all the info possible. I just found that one seemed to go into real good detail, and the author appears to update it frequently.

Yeah, the kitty is hilarious.

here is another good reference for diagnosis too.... im not saying it will work for everyone...
Cool pic. Saved.

LOL @ your avatar. Sounds like workin in the oil patch....except there would be another retort of...."use it anyways" LOL

if not sure about water, buy a moisture meter with probe that can reach down in the pot. for less than 10$ you can water then right till you get it figured out.. plants perk up when lights are turned on.
