Possible to Mount Light Higher?

Even though I planned for their stretch, 2 weeks in they have reached the light (they stretched A LOT in the last 2-3 days).

Does anyone know of an alternative way of mounting the hood in the picture without having to use those triangle brackets? Because there is nearly a foot of clearance above the hood and it's cool to the touch on top.

To be honest, even with you saying the lamp is cool to the touch, I'd be very hesitant to lift it higher. You could easily remove the triangles and tie off to the clasps the triangle grab onto, but I'd be concerned with an HPS too close to the Mylar, which is flammable, and can burn on contact with a hot surface.

Instead, look into "super cropping" as an alternative fix for your height issues. I've been using the technique for years in my shorter grow spaces.

Hang the V hook over the bar on the tent and then connect it to the light reflector.
That was my first thought, just take the ratchets out of the equation. Then you still have some separation between the lamp and the top.
