possibly bugs???

Checking my kahuna plant today I saw some weird patterns in the leafs surrounding the bud. at first I thought it was some kind of defficiency but when I looked close the patterns looked like tunnels. then inside those tunnels it looked like there was some small black bugs in the tunnels. I tried to use magnifying glass to get a better look, but they were just to small, and didnt appear to be moving, perhaps the rain killed them?

anyone know what im dealing with?

could be leaf miner, or a beetle borer is theres a cocoon type tunnel on leaf?you can get a good overall idea if you happen to have access to cervantes growers bible. good luck and speedy recovery
