What's so great about this site is how diverse we all are. Men, women, young old, liberal, conservative. Yet we are here today to discuss music. Something I regretably didn't take too seriously till a few years ago in my late 20's.

Here I am now. Learning guitar, jamming with my friends and wondering where this hunk of wood has been my entire life.

My inspiration comes from a phenom who had three No 1's in the mid 90's post grunge era. Travis Meeks and his band mates were fucking kids. He wrote most of what you'll find at age 14, 15 and 16. At at 16 his band was opening for Metallica who pretty much ruled the world then. But to open Metallica as an acoustic act? Well, you have to shred.

His albums range from him in a chair with his guitar to a full orchestra (Dancing with the Wind)

This isn't even my favorite song by Travis Meeks aka Days of The New. But the question I always ask myself was

WHY WASN'T I IN SEATTLE ON THIS DAY!!!

The intro is 1min. It's from an album almost 10 years in the making. "Orch of the medium" is the intro. Then "Freak" begins.

It's a sound I miss. I love the acoustic being distorted the way he does it. It just works.

Here are a few links that really like. Some of my friends hate this music. So I can take it. It's ok. We don't have to like the same music. But if you like it please tell me why.

How you perform live is everything to me.

"Freak" 1998 (he was like 18 guys)

"Not the Same" 1999 (The easiest song to play...deep into his meth addiction but making great music)

"Dancing With the Wind" (Solo is nuts, full orchestra is nuts) He's never this animated.
