if i can avoid posted areas i try to.
I had 3 plots for this year picked out, trimmed the trees where needed, dug the holes and dropped my soil mix in. all that was needed was for me to bring in the plants.

my best spot got compromised, looks like someone else found the area and wants to grow there as well, i don't even think they realize there was another grow plot just 50 yds away.
so i abandoned that spot (which i was really angry about having to do) and found a new spot.....but there are posted signs. but i happen to know who owns the property and when they would be there. but i always bring my dog just in case anybody comes up on me, little easier to talk myself out of it if I am "just walking my dog" and really i am walking the dog, she loves it, chases all the squirrels and deer, plays in the creek, its a win-win

so long story short, yes i will plant in a posted area but scope it out extra good and make sure if you do get caught you have some sort of half-assed excuse for being there.

and BTW, that fucker that messed up my good spot is definitely getting his shit ripped come September. I didn't hike in all that heavy ass soil and dig those big ass holes for nothing.

I look for spots that get good sunlight and don't get human traffic until late november or early december.

I feel yer pain, but honestly don't think it is good carma to trash someone else's grow. I am sure he wasn't intentionally trying to crowd yer plot, and he is just doing the same thing you are doing. how would you feel if someone left an area because you moved in there and then waited till september and then came in and trashed yer crop? I mean I can't really tell ya what to do, I am just saying that it sounds like bad Juju... ya never know. What goes around comes around...

besides, maybe he did you a favor. if you thought it was a good spot and someone else moved in there... maybe it isn't as good a spot as you think, and maybe he will end up getting busted or something like that. Maybe moving out of that spot was a good thing. Ever think of it that way?

not legit to "rip" someones plants. EVER. maybe since you both obviously think alike why not work together instead of conceitedly competing

yah, how would you feel if someone were to rip your plants that you worked so hard to get to harvest?? i'd be super pissed.. all you lost was maybe an hour of two of your time, no big deal, why be an asshole about it to someone else who did nothing to you??
ripping is never a cool thing to do, ever...

Actually I found his plants last year about 2 miles away. Soon as I saw em I turned and went to find a spot elsewhere.

Again, not doing it to be mean. I have 67 dollars worth of soil and nutes in the ground over there that I won't be using. And I spent all that time and effort hauling thr shit in. Not walking away empty handed. Idc what u guys think, scout your spots better so you are sure not to set up camp right on top of someone elses.

i STRONGLY disagree. someone planted on MY property last year and i ripped his plants as soon as i found them. I do not want to get busted become some stranger is planting weed on my property. If someone wants to come onto my property I request they ask my permission first.

To access my spot i pass many posted signs. I just check for a clear coast and walk right past em. See, this is the most harrowing part of my journey and the only time I even feel theres a chance I get caught, since I'm trapesing through someones private property and possible with grow materials. But hey no guts no glory. If you look at it on a high note, the posted signs will keep out most any tom dick and harry who could be misguidedly roaming the woods looking for my shit. So if you have the cajones just ignore the posted signs and keep your fucking eyes and ears peeled. Granted i only have to walk through about a mile of private land and only 40 yards of it is open to other human eyes. The next mile to my plot is all though state game land and perfectly legal to walk through. I've tried to find better or safer ways to my plots and alas this is the only one that makes sense. So buckle up for the ride, and if youre not prepared for the even the slightest chance you get caught growing marijuana, you shouldnt be growing marijuana. RDG

Rippers get spider mites...Naw, just wait till he's ready to plant, and leave a note saying "It's cool if you grow here, I won't mind", Bet he abandons the spot, losing the same amount of time and effort as you. Then NOBODY gets to grow there, right? I mean, really, ripping someone else off is the lowest of the low, why would you want to make someone feel like they've been raped by a stranger?

I'll start by saying this is my first outdoor grow, but I can tell you POSTED signs might be the best thing for your grow. Like someone else said, it will keep most other people out.

I spent far more time scouting spots than I did all other tasks combined. That spot should be perfect, and if that means a posted sign is violated,.....
Just remember to respect that land like it was your own, I tried to determine what that land was used for. If it appears it is used for hunting, I know to be careful and mindful of where someone might sit to wait for deer.

I have 90 holes dug, roughly half on private land. My rule is to hide those in plain sight. I suspect walking a mile or two into private land might be a little more risky than a very short distance through briars into a poor hunting area.

Always have a dog/gun/fishing pole for an excuse if the property owner does happen to see you. Around here its posted for hunting, and that dont start until its just about time to pull em out.
