Pot Bound in flower

Hey guys/gals... my main plant which is about 2 weeks into flower is pot bound... roots coming out the bottom. Am I correct in leaving her be and making sure she has plenty of water when needed... while at the same time making sure the pan holding any run off is also not sitting with standing water/nutrients? Here's a pic?

In my opinion leave her in the pot she's in and make sure she's got a nice neighborhood to live in. She's no spring chicken, her roots have largely been laid.
 
My plants roots come out the bottom too, but when you take the pot off to look it isn't nearly pot bound and still has room to go
 
The major issue with root bound plants is water retention...transplanting would be your best best...be gentle...get help if needed...it will help your plant
 
Consider 'Rocket Pots' for the future if financially viable... no root spiraling and if somehow they do fill with roots the air/water ratio is still manageable through to harvest ;)
The rockets never cease to amaze me...

Pot plants grow so that when they first go into dirt they spend nearly all their energy putting down a root system to support the plant. In fact, you will see little growth aboveground until the roots have filled the pot. Only then do you see rapid vegetative growth aboveground. BigSteve.

After around 30days in flower root growth slows way down. Your plants switching from veg to flower.
Your plant looks healthy I wouldn't mess with it IMO.
 
yeah you will probably have to water every day or every other day root bound plants just need more attention. like growing plants in solo cups you know they have to be root bound lol.

Transplant her for better a yield.
 
I just repotted these 2 5ft ladies into 10g root pouches. Honestly they havn't looked this happy in over a month. Get an extra set of hands to help.

I'm a huge believer in smart pots. I used plastic pots at first with plenty of holes for drainage, and they just don't compare to the root pots.

They dry out faster (so you can feed more/flush easier) and the root system grows PERFECTLY. The roots grow to the side/bottom and then start branching out. It makes a huge difference when you go to transplant, and instead of having a big wad of roots at the bottom of the soil (that you rip half of off while trying to get it out), you have a nice solid ball of roots that are well branched, and hold the soil much better.

I like to transplant right before flower, or at the beginning of, to make sure there is plenty of space for the roots. They don't grow through all of flower, but the size of your buds can be stunted if the plant can't grow an adequate root system to support them with.
 
Hmmm...well she's looking very healthy IMO. And really I've done very little other than water. I will get a friend to help me...it's funny ..cause I don't notice her smell unless the dog brushes by her, but my friend calls her OLE Stinky! I put water in the tray and she laps that up like a thirsty dog after a long walk.

Ya it won't set her back at all. I left one untouched in the 5g planter it started in the first of June just to see if there's any major difference. Also put a couple in the ground just before flowering too.
 
A friend walked into my house today and apparently the baby 'stinkies' are throwing off an odour! hahaha... i don't notice it mind you.

Well, Rocket Pots do look great however, no access to them here. So I picked up a 15g fabric pot with handles.(probably could have done with the 10g...WHO the CHRIST can lift that when full! Planted her tonight... poor girl looks lost in all that space now! Watered her and it's cool here tonight... not much of a fight getting her out ... just picked her up and the old pot came right off. Let's hope this brings fat ass buds... 2 1/2 weeks into flower.
 
Just be careful with smart pots... I have found them to be a little prone to molding on the outside at times...
The roots really get in there... they still work well... and when you go to wash them, just throw them in the washing machine with a little Rhizotonic or something to break down the roots.... soak overnight and wash cycle the next day... good as gold ;)

She's looking good. Didn't miss a beat. Gave her plenty of water and we're off to the races. Now it's getting cool here and if she has 8 more weeks its could be touch and go as whether I bring her indoors to finish.
 
If you can get her to get close to finish just before the cold snap... it should finish a little bit earlier and give you amazing resin production!
Ive seen old school growers time their outdoors nearly to the week (back before the global weather turned haywire) and the resin was just wow for an outdoor!

Here are some up close and personals of her buds....and one of her in her new bed. I can bring her in if required. I have a cabin set up in the basement, but I'd like her to stay outside. as this is my first plant, I'd like to see what I going to look for with her babies that are soon to be switched to flower...
Her pot is wet at the bottom so I will not be watering for some days... What about nuts... she's in soil MG
