Thought i'd post a link to one of the many health benefits found from cannabis.

http://www.internalmedicinenews.com/single-view/marijuana-smoking-associated-with-66-decrease-in-diabetes-risk/40de87806e.html

Doesn't just protect us from cancers, and Alzheimers, it turns out now it also will reduce your risk of getting diabetes by up to 66%!

There is a reason why the famous old stoners are still alive at very old ages. Our ancestors starting at least 14,000 years ago started cultivating and ingesting cannabis and thus it became part of our diet. Today we reap the benefits of that diet because as with all foods that have been in the diet of a species for along time, we gain health benefits from it in its real form.

Forget that pot smokers live longer, digest food better, have less disease, and overall happier lives, its also fun :) If it were discovered today in a world without pot it would be hailed as the greatest find to human health in all of history. We humans are great and screwing up the good things in our lives for some reason as a culture.

that's pretty cool, I assumed smoking weed could have lead to diabetes even faster... I for one know I eat a lot more junk when I am high..

FYI, the article does not say that "pot protects against diabetes by 66%". From the article:

"Dr. Shaheen stressed that as this was a cross-sectional study, it can’t establish causality. The findings, while provocative, ought to be interpreted cautiously."

"Prospective studies need to be performed in rodents and humans to determine a causal relationship between cannabinoid receptor activation and diabetes. Until those studies are performed, we do not advocate the use of marijuana in patients at risk for diabetes mellitus," the investigator stressed.

Yes its the first study, but this study did show that marijuana smokers do have lowered risk. Remember it also says "In a multiple logistic regression analysis adjusted for socio-demographic factors, comorbid conditions, laboratory values, and inflammatory markers, marijuana users had a 66% lower likelihood of having diabetes."
