i beg to differ....you can grow monsters out of small potters...this is a 6.5 quart potter....... 4 ft monster.

But how much bigger would those buds have been in a bigger pot?

Would like them to test this with air pots.

bravo on the solo!! I was in a "solo cup challenge" a few yrs back, different board,winner was 44 grams so you're right on the perfectionist doorstep. Anyone else wanna argue with the man? lol

Many, many, many variables go into the overall outcome of a plant. Don't limit yourself to what books say. Plant, learn, share, improve, repeat.

HEY! since we are on the subject of pot size I need an opinion. Is there a difference between tapering pot sizes every couple of weeks, or can I just go ahead and go from dixie straight to 5 gallon and have the same effect?
 
Being an outdoor grower I know the difference of every plant I have ever grown. Some in as little as 5gls of soil. Others in 25gls. More soil more yield. Even though i'm somewhat new to indoors looks like the same effect with more soil.
 
right, but what I was asking is I am indoor. i plan on using a max size of 5 gallons. Is it more beneficial to go from cup to 3 gal to 5 gal or, does it not matter and just go straight to 5 gallon?
 
In my experience transplanting into to large a pot to early increases the chance to over/under water but I couldn't speak much beyond that. I jump from 1 gallon to 7.
 
Scrotie thats how i do it...welll cup to 1 gal to 3 then 5 and I was taught by some of the best. When you put a small pot in a big pot you tend to get a few roots growing to the bottom of the pot. With a smaller pot the roots grow more uniformly
 
My first indoor run last winter I went right from solo cups to 5gl buckets. Won't do it again. Now solo to 1 gl then 5gl. Just me though.
