Pot size

I want to keep my next grow small. I was thinking about keeping the pot size small would this work? Also do smaller plants produce buds faster?

They don't produce faster. My opinion is use as large a container as possible. Bigger root ball bigger buds.

If you want them small yeah you can use a smaller pot. Just be wary that you’ll need to start feeding them sooner if it’s soil. Plus they will exhaust the soil pretty quickly and if you don’t replace those nutrients (usually early/mid flower) they’ll yellow quickly.

You can speed up the ripening process by having a feed that is higher in K than P/N.

Personally I wouldn't use a smaller pot. Root size has direct effect on yield.
You can have a large pot with a short veg time and have small plants with nice yields.
So if you want small plants then just shorten the veg or as stated above do a sog.

If doing a SoG pot size should be the largest you can use while still keeping your plants per sqft where you like it.

When I did SoG as a production method I ran 48 plants per light in a 4x4 foot area. 7x7 grid minus one for where the tray fittings are. Double that in a 4x8 (I used fittings and pumps on both ends of the tray). I ran 6 inch white square pots with hydroton. Ideally one could have a cover for the tray, with support feet so it won't sag. Then cut holes for tiny net pots. Put a coco mat in the bottom of the tray. Not the roots can just go nuts under the cover but you can't move plants but I never did. Just put any slacker clones in the middle like a stadium arrangement or even better root extra clones and only grow the best.
