Just finished harvesting one of my plants and when I went to take it from the soil I noticed the roots looked a little cramped.. Is this normal or was this pot really just too small...

Oh yeah that’s too small a container for 2 months of veg... I’m surprised there aren’t more roots circling. 2 months of veg plus seedling stage (3 weeks ish) right? If so... at least a 5G.... 7 or 10 even better I suppose.
What was your yield like? As long as you kept up with feeding I’m sure you have some great bud! A bigger pot would give you more is all

what's the general rule on pot size again.. 1 gal per month of expected grow time?
but to the op, that's not terrible. i do 4 month runs in 5 gals that come out of the containers looking like that..

2 months inclides seedling stage... After 2 months planting seed is when I switched light cycle. Drying for 7 days since harvest, harvest size 38g...is that good?

Okay so you vegged for about 4 weeks before flip... yield is on the low end imo if you had everything dialed in feeding wise and some LST, topping, dimming, super cropping etc. Will all increase yields and you will gain experience with each grow and be rewarded for it by more yields!! You can do some crazy things to cannabis plants!

Yea was hoping for more... Crop looked huge on the drying rack and then 3 days it shrank in half.... LST for sure with more 2700k spectrum light during flowering...

I attribute a good portion of bud loss due to aggressive pruning during veg stage, removing entire branches. I have an LED B/R canopy giving out 108 actual watts, and then supplemented it with 63 actual watts from two 5000k spiral CFLs.

For my next grow, I am using 3 gal fabric pots, 1:1:1 nutes all the way through, 108w LED canopy + 63w 5000k CFL during veg then switching CFL to 90w 2700k during flower. Grow space is about 3ft x 1.5ft

Never grew with cfls, but I think you need better light quality. I'm just going to assume you're not getting better lights for a legitimate reason

Yes, tight budget. Lighting will change eventually, just not in a hurry.
