pots!

im growing my first strain ever and its easy ryder, i have them in small pots maybe 2 litres, and wondered for outdoor will this be big enough till the end product? as i dont wanna cchange em over incase i damage or ruin my grow :/

Hey man, autos are best to be put straight into big pots, about 3 gallon but 5 would be good because then the roots have more room. If you place them in a small pot like i did to start with it will stunt their growth and will only end up small.

So, get youself some nice 3 - 5 gallon pots and put them in there right away, those two litre pots will deffinately not be enough man :D good luck.

Your growing autos so will be different then what i did. I started in 5 gallon smart pots. after about 5-6 weeks i transplanted to 25 gallon smart pots. Whitin 2 weeks the transplants had already filled the 25 gallon smart pot full of roots. How i know is i had a male and had to pull him out. Looking back i wish i had gone with 45 or 65 gallon pots. So for an auto im thinkiing 10 gallons outdoors would be ok.

okay dude thanks! what soil mixture would you say is good for these? im working on a very tight budget, at the minute ive put them in just plain miricle grow soil but was thinkin bout gettin sum nutes in bout 3 weeks time any ideas?

I just used cheap stuff from the local DIY shop. Carful with the nutes though man, really careful. I heard MG soil had nutes in it, and i heard easy ryders are sensetive to nutes to you might wanna rethink before potting unless you already have. Good luck man

as for transfering, tap the sides of the pot to get all the soil loose (i water before so the soil sticks together, slide it out, make a hole roughly the size of the old pot, put the plant in and loosen the soil at the bottom of the one you just pulled out so the roots are a bit free ( so they can penetrate new soil) and just guide it, and make it snug. :) hope you can get sense out of what i just wrote because i confused myself when i wrote it.

I put the pot between my knees and turn it and squeeze the sides. Then it just pops out in one solid ball (assuming it's getting rootbound) Never had an issue transplanting yet

cheers dudes :) its good to see fellow stoners help eachother out, im new to this website today but i think with all yours help i wont be payin £10 a gram much longer! once again cheers boys!

yeah, they explained the pot problem, minimum 10 gallon is what you need for outdoor, and for transplanting, some people do it different, i just put the trunk of the plant between my fingers and just turn it upside down and slide out the plant, thats how some people do it, then yeah, loosen up the bottom and only the bottom a little so the roots can get a good start in getting into the new soil.

You gonna do a journal man? Where abouts are you from, i know your from the uk but which region? would love to see how these bad boys turn out, how old are they?

i ve always water small seedling with SUPERthrive two days before transplant....after the transplant, heavy water with SUPERthrive so the root wont be shock transplant sympton :). i do the twice transplants in one corp because first is in the small cube for seed to sprouted...two or three weeks later transplant to the 1 gallon with fertilizer time releases like blood meal, bone meal, and garden lime (for soilless) to start the veg stages....and one month before induce flower, i will transplant to 3 between 5 gallon with fresh soilless with bood meal, bat guano to make flower grow fast. thats it i wasnt expect any bigger yeild...its important to focus on plant getting good health overall than force nutes etc. thats my expreince...you can always find the method which it suit ya well :)
