pound for my next grow?

only thing is if im running 5 gals id only be growing like 4 plants....if i used 3 gallons id be able to run 9 meaning each plant only needs to produce 1.7 ounces each, isnt that easier than expecting 4 plants to put out 4 ounces each?

No, Im just Jay from RI... and I use Advanced, but I sure as hell dont sell for them, or represent them... If I did, I wouldnt be paying out the ASS for them... Ive used most other Nutrient lines and havent had the results I get with AN, but thanks for the update on how many nutrient companies are out there.... I have plenty of grows under my belt to know what Im talking about.... Im not getting into a pissing match with ignorant people.... Show me what you do, and I might listen to you if it makes sense....

in terms of a grow space then a 4x4 area is on the small side but in terms of grow tents thats the average size...

and you know 99% more than most of the tossers on here? it seems like your the only tosser here who no one agrees with and i think most people here grow not just you, so no grammy for you :)

9 plants is just too many in that small a space im assuming your planning on going 3x3 and its gonna pack that room by the end of flowering unless you veg em for about 2 weeks if your vegging them 3 weeks you can maybe squeeze 8 in, if you veg 4 weeks you maybe get 6 in there you gotta remember 4x4 is a small space, when i build my room it will be 7x4x8 and i consider it a small flowering room and ill be putting 7 plants in there this run with my autoflower going in the 2x2 veg room, and possibly 10 in the flower room next time trying to create a perpetual harvest but bottom line it all depends on your veg time but if you veg for 4 weeks you need a 5 gallon bucket

This is true.

I have your same setup. A 4x4x6.5 tent with a 600w HPS. I grow 4 plants at a time in 5 gal pots and I veg till I see preflowers (4-5 weeks). They BARELY fit in the tent. No way I could put any more plants in there.

Maybe if you did 3 gal or less, but its hard to say. I would like to try this to see if I could yield more, but I need to keep it under 5 plants for various legal precautions.
 
watch how much info you put on the net. local governments can get alot even without trying. just a helpful hint. but aim small miss small

Where you getting that figure from if you think your one of the elite because your grow take a look at the grow journal sections, I mean do you think 99% of people come on here that have never grown to offer growing advice be it nutrient problems, vegging times, grow room configuration etc and you think theyre coming at these issue with 0 frst hand experience? No because this is for the majority a growing forum with the majority of members being growers so your absolutely wrong about that. As far as you knowng more than 99% of the people on here i find that highly unlikely because people that happen to know an extrodinary amount about growing dont announce it to everyone they let their knowledge speak through their posts and that kind of attitude gets you nowhere with giving or getting advice or help on an issue. Come down off your pedestal your not the only one on here who grows almost everyone does and i doubt your any growmaster so just come off it because theres always someone out there who knows more than you.

yeah but your running 4 in 5 gallon pots, so yeah no more than 4 in a tent that size but 9 in 3 gallon pots would be like a semi sog once it fills out...remember i want to get a pound so i only need 1.7 ounces off each plant if i was running 9 plants. i just feel it would be easier to run 9 and get 1.7 ounces from each than to run four and try to get 4 ounces off each.

i mean...how much do you roughly pull from those 4 plants?

10 posts and i think i know whos who? no not at all because i dont spend my life on forums acting tough...but i know for sure the people on this post dont respect you from the way your talking, calling 99% of people on here tossers

i know for a fact a pound in a 4x4 area isnt hard at all, im just new to growing so im asking expert advice on how to achieve this (that excludes you), everything you type has been proved wrong so you start calling people names, this isnt what marijuanas about maybe you need to join a crack forum!

1.7 oz per plant doesnt sound like it would be that hard to produce but for the beginning grower a near 2oz avg per plant would be a good accomplishment its not just as easy as throwing nine under the 600 and let them go type deal, so lets break it down youve decided on a 4 week veg, fine but one issue you could definately run into is the plants getting root bound in the 3 gallon pot i veg for 4 weeks and like i said by the end their circling the entire 5 gallon bucket if you have healthy roots which is what you want those suckers grow fast and the plant with it trying to get 9 in that space could also leave you with potential problems such as, lack of co2, lack of air movement in room(bud mold), dark spots and underdeveloped bottoms, not being able to rotate, move, inspect etc when theyre packed in like that, theres jus so many problems that can occur from overcrowding a grow room to me its honestly easier to expect bigger yields from less plants that have good space lighting and airflow they can essentially triplein yield compared to packing 9 smaller plants in that same room i tried that last ttime and it didnt work out like id thought it would and this time around between premier genetics and proper spacing and lighting im looking to hit between 2.5 and 4 ozs per plant but nothings guarenteed, hope this helps

Your question is totally valid, it seems it would be easier to pull 1.7 oz per 3 gal as opposed to 4 oz per 5 gal. I'm curious to try this.

I pull 13 oz per harvest on average but it depends greatly on the strain. With average yielding strains I pull around 3 oz per plant. If its a heavy yielder I can pull 4+ off of it. But I grow 4 different strains at a time, so it varies by the plant. If I grew 4 big buds, critical +, or other heavy yielders, I think I could def pull a pound or close to it. It could very well be easier to do with 9 small plants though instead of 4 bigger ones.

Just finished drying 6 Purple Kush run under a 600. I got 492 grams off them. I have grown up to 9 plants in my 4x4 space. It's alot more work with that many plants. And the yield is pretty much the same whether growing 9, 6 or four. here's a few pics from harvest.

wow nice plants! yh theres so many contradicting opinions...i think maybe the answer is to go in between with 6 plants...although 2.6 ounces per plant still seems kind of steep for someone like me whos still only on his 2nd grow?!?! 9 plants in 3 gallon pots is just like a semi sog with larger plants so i dont see how it would fail considering sog's are popular.

and the strain im using is bomb seeds medi bomb #1 which they say can pull 450-500 grams per m2...and im obviously working in a 1.2 m2 area so whats your thoughts?

I wouldn't expect yields anywhere as much as breeder states. You being a fairly new grower I'd do 6 plants in 5 gl pots. I'd also trim up some branching off the bottom of plants. Keep as many leaves as possible. You should end up with some nice colas that will be nice and dense. Rather than an ounce or two of popcorn. Don't overfeed or overthink and you should be okay.
