Powdery Mildew in Early Flowering

Hey Folks. I've been flowering for roughly a week and a half and have noticed some PM starting to show up. I was considering spraying with Neem or burning sulfur as I have both options readily available. Is one option better than the other in terms either effectiveness or use during flowering? Is there any reason to do both several days apart? Any advice/ help is greatly appreciated. Would much rather learn from the community than from costly mistakes. I thank you in advance.

Burning Sulfer and an AirROS machine are the two surest ways of eliminating PM. Sulfer in flower will give you bad taste, but you're not too far along.

I wasn't aware that Neem oil was good for PM,

A milk and water mixture will help, as will sodium bicarbonate (I think, I always get confused).

Regalia is a good preventative and citric acid will dissolve PM. I like Dr Zymes Eliminator.

I would use Dr. Zymes as well. Spray right before lights out or else it can turn some of the pistils brown.

If I go with Baking Soda and water remedy does that need to be done in the "dark"?If so how long does it need to be before "sunrise"? I'm assuming it's a good idea to remove the affected foliage even though it's very minor hardly noticeable. I will post pics when daylight breaks.

I wouldn't worry about the heat from your light drying the solution too quick - it's the coating that changes the surface of the plant PH that is the mechanism that kills PM.

With something like Dr Zymes the citric acid dissolves the PM so needs to stay liquid longer.

You can remove infected leaves but be careful of spreading spores.

Does anyone know about mixing milk with baking soda?

Say I went in tonight and sprayed the baking soda solution would it be advisable to then burn the sulfur in the morning when the lights go out?
If I need to do one or the other IMO sulfur would be the better route. Thoughts?

Sulphur is good for doing the room after your grow
It leaves a nasty residual taste on flowering plants
I’ve never tried washing my plants after it

I'm only 8 days into flowering, however, as I said I'd rather learn from the community than from mistakes. So you think it's safe to spray the soda solution tonight while the lights are on or should I wait till morning and do it in the dark? If it's not a burning issue with the lights on I'd rather do it tonight while they are on as doing it in the dark is going to raise the humidity substantially.

I spray mine as needed but I would never tell you to spray with lights on
If ya spray make sure you have plenty of air movement
I would do them now and again in a few days
I also don’t worry about overspray

Heard and understood. I mixed 1 tablespoon of Baking soda to a gallon of water and a touch of Castille soap as a surfactant. I will hit them in the morning just before it goes dark. Thanks so much for your replies and advice very helpful and much appreciated.

Also try to keep your lights off and on temps within 5-10 degrees from one another. If your seeing so early on in flower you have had it for like 4 weeks before you actually seen it on the plants. I use green cure but it’s same as baking soda mix. There is also zerotol that is supposed to work really well but have no experience with it. The night and day temps is what helped me the most I even took air flow away and just use passive air flow now but I have a small space heater on an ink bird that keeps my night temps within 5 degrees from day temps and no issues anymore. Hope you get is under control so you can finish them

I've added an oil heater to the space to help keep my Temps in range. Been extra chilly for my neighborhood last few weeks as well so I'm sure that has played a role. Other than this little bit of PM things look really good so I am definitely hopeful I can get it under control.

You will get it taken care of just be vigilant with it
