Powdery Mildew Query

im just trying to get some ideas of what people have done for powdery mildew crops. ive done a fair amount of reading, and everything seems to point to the same thing: control it before it even starts, blah blah blah. well thats all well and good, but i have powdery mildew, and the remedies in my price range haven't done anything to improve the situation. at this point, ive pretty much given up on getting rid of it. now if youre still with me, and i hope you are, i am getting to the point. the mildew at present is on some of the fan leaves, and a random frostie here and there. my question: are all the buds fucked because of this, or is it possible to smoke those without visible mildew? and if its not a good idea to smoke any of the buds, what is the best move with the crop? so far extraction hash has been the only real safe answer, im wondering if people have tried doing water cures with any success/ is that safe? also wondering if anyone has tried spraying their bud down with peroxide prior to hanging it up to dry? basically i'd love to get some smokeable bud out of all this, not just a fuck ton of hash

thanks for reading

...yeap, a sulpher burner. I burn mine 1/2 hour x 3 durning lights off. It does exactly what the name says, burns sulpher into the air, lowering the pH of the air, which in turn prevents powerdy mildew from growing. This is typically a problem for "airtight rooms" from what I understand...you may just need to up your airflow if your running a "fresh air in, fresh air out" operation.

...as for what to do with your present crop. I heard of people wipe'n their leaves off with towels....idk.
...if your have'n mold on your bud, you might want to lower the hell out of your humidity. Good luck man.

Yep, get a sulfur burner. I run mine for a couple of hours at the first sign of any powdery mildew. Then make it a regular routine. Filtering the incoming air would also be a wise idea too. I've wanted to get one of those Hepa filters for my outside air intake, but they were around $200. Not to mention, during summertime, the restricted airflow the filter incurs could very well be as problematic as the mildew. The perfect growroom is always a choice between pros and cons. Best of luck.

thanks for the responses, i agree with all your steps to controlling pm. as i said, ive looked into just about every cure and tried most as well. i shied away from the sulfur burner mostly because of the effects ive heard on the end products taste. this didnt seem like the right path for me since they are so far along.

anyhow, still looking for input on pmed crops. still curious as to whether or not the buds are infected simply for existing in the same room.

Ok I'm deffinitly a noob....but....I think beating this powedery mildew is the only thing ive been doing right...

Now ive spent money on serenade and Ed Rosenthals fungicide, smells like cinnimon milk....im too scared to use either...my buddy used neem oil and burned his leaves....

I have been using a sparay bottle with ro water and two T spoons of baking soda....after any kind of build up i switch to the same bottle but with RO water and 3 T spoons peroxide..3%... From what i found PM prefers a low temp with high humidity...so i also raised temps and bought a dehumidifier....It handles it well, i dont do it as regularly as i should...i beat it and wait for it to come back....

I came up with this after talking to the grow guy that sold me the other stuff i was too afraid to use...He said basically spary them so they PH is unsuitable for the PM..it works...give it a shot...dont spray under heavy light or dreanch before dark....I drench about twenty minutes before the lights go out, under a heavy fan...

Good luck:joint:
