Hello,

I been having a major problem for the last 4-5 crops. Every crops i have powdery mildew striking hard! To the point where it ruin my crop and i always have to start over with new mom and clones. I have enough ventilation and control my humidity with a deshumidifier.

I cleaned my room but feel like i did not clean it in every corner as there is a lot of hard spot to reach and i feel like it goes in my walls and everything to the point there will be mildew left somewhere ready to haunt me.

I was wondering if my ventilation system could be at fault. The way its done is that is suck air from outside and bring it in the room before exhausting it again. its a small shed so maybe the air is too cold outside? My temperature is always room temperature but could the air entering being cold affect plant even if its the right temperature overall?

Also, how can i get rid of mildew ? I cant afford to build a new room. I need to find a solution to eradicate this problem.

Please , someone bring me a miracle. As i grow to help someone with health issues. I need to keep going and grow good ganja again and stop discarding my crops as i wont give that person ganja with mildew!

Thanks!

Are you cleaning it with bleach? Try Bleach and maybe even try repainting it. There are some paints/primers with mildew resistant stuff mixed in.

Since its a shed, the wall are unfinished wall with an isolator in the wall with a plastic wrap to cover it with black and white on top of it. Its not concrete wall or wood wall so cant really paint. Last time i used bleach . Still it come back to haunt me every round to the point where i want to give up as my electricity bills are high and crops are being discarded . 100% loss as we speak.

Powder mildew is common when you bring cold wet air into a grow environment. It's hard to control a grow environment perfectly when you are exchanging air. Your humidity readings are probably all over the place as probably are your temp variances.

You need to keep your humidity between 45-55% and your temps stable and not too cold to keep mildew away.

Wow man. That sucks. Sorry to hear about your troubles. Just doesn't sound like you have a good way to keep the environment clean. How big a shed? Could you actually build a cabinet inside the shed. Make a mini-room of sorts, something that you can make sure is sealed up good?

Maybe you can find an old fridge and repurpose it. I have an old upright freezer that I've been thinking about making into an additional grow box after seeing someone show theirs.

Add some Silica in your mix, find powdery mildew resistant strains and grow them... Do you have fans blowing low and high?

Yeah its cold 5-6 months a year here with snow outside so this is a major problem. I need to find a way to seal the room and have no need to bring outside air. Maybe it could fix the problem as lets be honest, air that come here is freezing cold before it get back to room temperature .

As for the humidity level its between 45-70% during vegetation .

@new2420grow yes it suck. Its a huge shed. maybe 15 by 15. Its sealed but i bring in outside air so this might be my current problem.

@Chewberto Silica sounds like a good idea. Forgot bout this. I have around 4-5 oscillating fan my 15 x 15 room. All running on mid speed and moving air around.

Sorry dude... then it has to be the integrity of the shed that is allowing the extreme humidity.... Spikes in temps too probably

Once a room is loaded up with mildew spores it is extremely difficult to prevent it from growing on new plants even if your humidity/air circulation is good. The one thing that I found that truly works is a systemic fungicide called Eagle 20, its about as far from organic as you can get, but it is a total game ender for powdery mildew.

Its very strong and concentrated, it stays in the plant for a month so it should only be used on mother plants and plants in veg.

1: spray down EVERYTHING w/a stronger bleach mix (NOT plants)

2: control humidity to 45% and DON't go over 50%

3: google "horsehair tea" it's an herbal tea. BUY some - brew as directed and cool it down. Spray the tea on your plants (top and bottom and soil surface), then on the room after the bleach.......Powdery mildew is now DEAD! This is 100% organic and the plants will LIKE it! This works!!!!!!!! use every time you see a new batch of mildew....if you do...

4: Seal the room to outside air.....run c02 and the problem will go away if you control the humidity to 45% ( or do this after the horsehair and problem go's away long term ).
I have not had powdery mildew for years!

Green cure works (organic and can be mixed to strong and "burn" plants) as does milk (can stink) but the mildew returns and retreating sucks....USE the horsehair tea!

I would remove the plants for 24 hours while you clean the tent up real good then clean the plants that have residue one by one as you put them back in the tent, although make sure the tent is dry and cleaned prior to.
Then set up your ventilation with the plants inside make sure you feel air blowing everywhere you put your hand even if it feels like soft.

Thought I found some pm on my current grow. Turned out to just be a little sheetrock dust

Still scared me half to death!

Op, look up sulfur burners. Never used one personally but my bro used to when he would have pm. Worked awesome he said. Just dont leave it on and forget about it ;)!
