Powdery Mildew? Thankfully, I Think Not...

So I had some white spots on some lower leaves last Saturday. The weather here has been ideal for PM - hot and humid but hardly any rain. Combine that with the fact that I'd moved the plant to a corner of the property where it gets a bit less sun and is beside a cedar hedge on one side, a fence on another, and behind our outdoor daybed on the other. I had to move it there to avoid bright night light pollution for flowering.

I hit the plant with a milk and water solution that day and then did it again this morning. When I got home I found this. And it was all over the plant. Even at the top near the young buds....

...needless to say I was freaking out a wee bit. My only plant! So I hit it with a baking soda and dish soap solution. Checked it a couple hours later and most of the white spots are gone. Now I know that this solution won't kill PM like that (or at all). It will mostly act as a defence for spreading.

And then it hit me...

The white spots in the pictures are dried residue from the milk spray this morning. Not PM. Woohoo!

...or am I wrong? Thoughts :?:
