im wondering the same thing... what advantages are their to doing 12/12 from seed vs. the usuall
I have never done this, but from what I have seen, I can say plants are smaller, for a 8 week flowering plant it will take about 9 weeks to harvest from seed, there is less vegetative growth, so there is more bud than leaves.
I might be wrong at some points, but thats from what I have seen.

sounds like a SOG - Sea Of Green grow... that would be nice for a small closet like mine

the plus side to a 12/12 is like stated before more bud and less leaves, plan tends to usually be like one two foot tall bud-sickel, although I've had some with multiple cola's. The main plus is that the time from germination to harvest is usually alot less. Say you normally spend a month veg'n and then 8-13 week flowering, by the time Im at the end of my first month with 12/12 I already have bud sites forming. So total time from start to harvest is 8-13 weeks usually, where as a normal 18/6 with a veg period is around 12-17 weeks on average.

Also since the plants are on 12/12 all the time you can introduce new clones or seeds at anytime, no need for two seperate grow setups. So its very easy to have a perpetual grow and harvest often.

Your yield may not be as much as a plant that is allowed to veg for a longer period because the plant in naturally smaller. However the right strain with good health and hydro all the way@!!! lol... will produce good size plants and buds.

I will have to post more pics when my lights come back on, because just since the last pics i've posted they have grown rapidly even after lst one of them even snapped its thread that was holding it down.

theres more light in there you just cant see. I have a 150w HPS in there that i have to turn off and move for pics(screws up the pics). These strain would do very well outdoors i think as its such a fast and vigorous grower.

Just though I would throw this in there.. I used clones and vegged for about 2 weeks and this is the outcome

If I had the time I would have waited another month... Thick stemmed plants can take up more nutes... And also they can hold there own weight... You almost never see a giant plant with a tree trunk produce small buds...

I done a ton of posting and corresponding with people on here. For the most part i only focused my time and energy on the stage of growth that my plant was enduring at that moment in time. That is why I did not know what the pistols were at that time. I do know what they are now.. Thanks for the help
