It will depend on what nutes you have as all are different. You will need the manufacturers reccomended feeding schedule chart. For instance Fox Farm has thier chart availiable for printing at thier site which is what I use. It will give you a listing of different nutes and how much and what mixture to use for each week of growing. It will tell you when its time for fresh res and anew nute mix. The ppm will be listed as to what it should be as per the chart at final mixes. For example they list for week one cuttings and seedlings 2 tsp per gallon of Grow Big and 1tsp of Big Bloom per gallon with an ending ppm of 1120-1230 or a simple EC reading of 1.6 to 1.8. If your in the US or abroad ppm wil vary whether its measured by ppm x 500 or ppm x 700.Follow your charts per the manufacturers suggested routine and then back off about a quarter the max and slowly get to that max so you can see if there is any varience.I have atruncheaon meter and prefer to just use the EC reading as its more accurate and does the math for me built in. I then like to keep my nutrient solution in the res at 5.8- 6.2 ph level. Here is a link to my journel showing my results so far this last time around..

Try to keep seedlings at about 200-400 ppms. After about 10 days bump up the ppm to around 500-800 ppm for the next 2-3 weeks. After about a month raise it to 1000-1200 ppm. When you start flowering you should be at around 1200, start taking it up slowly to no more than 1500 ppm. Tap water in my area has a ppm of about 200. So for a 1000 ppm my meter will read 1200. This should be tweaked for different strains, nutes, ect.

PPM, stands for Plant Preservative Mixture. And should be used as a standard ingredient in plant tissue culture media.

actually PPM stands for Parts Per Million and refers to the particles in the solution per million measured

PPM strength is mostly strain specific. In my experience, indica plants tend to like a higher ppm than sativas do. I will illustrate the methods I employ.

Vegitative stage:

When you are using seedlings and rooted clones, the ppm will need to be low, in the 300-500ppm range is usually sufficiant.
note:think babies, the tiny plants don't have enough solar panel to use high nutrient levels yet.

After the leaf surface area gets larger, the plants can uptake more nutrients.
When the plants reach about 2 weeks of age, gradually increase your ppm
to 500-800 ppm.
If you get a little leaf-tip burn, just use a slightly weaker solution.

As the weeks progress, gradually increase the ppm to a maximum of 1200ppm
in the vegitative stage. My plants will usually be 7-8 weeks old at this time.

Flowering stage:

So the plants just got about 7 weeks worth of nitrogen rich nutrients but will soon be switching to more of a phosphorus/potasium based nutrient.

In hydro/aero; I start my flowering schedule with a moderate amount of nutrients, in the 900-1100 range (depending on the size of the stalks and whether indica or sativa.)

Then as you progress through the weeks, higher nutrient levels can be used by the plant easier as the metabolism has now fully shifted into flowering mode.

I generally take indicas to about 1500 ppm max during the 6th week, considering we're on an 8 week schedule.

The last 2 weeks I use only water and some flushing solution for the first few days of my flush.

All the while maintaining a 5.5 to 6.2 ph.

The last 2 days I use water and Good old black-strap molasses. The flavor is absolutley amazing when the buds are dried nice and slowly.

I hope this helped you.

yes he is 100% right. But that doesnt mean iam wrong. Just take what you need and run with it.Also distilled water is supposed to have a 0 ppm/EC however, there are always a few impurities about which will cause a slight ppm reading normally about 2-5ppm, sometimes as high as 10 ppm (this is still nothing) RO systems will range from 15-60 ppm (this will also depend on the tap water ppm and how you setup the RO system).
