PPM

Hey folks. I'm a rookie with growing. Been cultivating my meds for less than a year. I use organic soil with pete & perlite (thinking of switching to coco in place of pete). I have some questions for any experts out there. Just got a TDS-3 meter by HM digital. Tested it on my tap and it read 017 ppm. Does that really mean my tap is at 17ppm's? That seems much lower than i thought. And is it ok to cut my tap with RO water as long as the ppm is at safe levels?

With that type of tap water I would just use that..........my tap in summer comes out at 700 ppm!!

Anyone growing in SE Portland who has a similar ppm reading on tap? That is between 17 and 21 ppm?

Yup. 20 ppm for me.
