preflowering! males or females?

So I'm around 35 days in from sprout and I haven't been looking to closely but today I noticed some preflowers...

I have them in the aerogarden so I know to chop the male out immediately, but just wanted some second opinions to make sure I'm not jumping the gun

I have 3 plants, 1 looks very female to me, one could be male, one hasnt shown flowers yet and is a bit of a runt...

I was hoping someone else could tell me how much i need to worry about leaving the dead male roots in the reservoir???
they are all very tangled in the small
Aerogarden res...

Also, is this the time to switch to flowering or can i continue to grow in veg a bit ( i want to train them a bit more)

in summary:

  1. Male or Female (only 2 plants pictured below
  2. Do I have to remove dead male roots from the reservoir? or will just chopping the plant and leaving the roots dangling suffice?
  3. Does preflowering mean I need to switch to 12/12 time now or can i stay on 18/6 to continue to train my plant?
Thanks for all the help guys - seeing the female flower was a huge weight off my shoulders :)

12-12 if you're impatient. keep at 18-6 if you want a bigger plant. wont bud til you get close yo 12-12 unless you have like an autoflowerer

How long can you keep a male in your garden before it destroys the females? First pic female, second two.. male :(
