preflowers or not?

well i dont really use nutes.... just about twice...i got some top soil really good soil btw n just add it to the top of the dirt n water a lil....oh ya um i had sum... f@ck i 4got. idk but it was small ill show u wut it looks like... well ne how i mixed it in with the dirt... but that was almost 2 weeks ago...n 2day i used sum MG water soluble plant food...ill show u =] i barely sprinkled the MG in the water i heard MG is bad so i added just a touch to its water like 8% of wut the package sed i should use

It needs to be on the 12/12 light cycle and then in 5 weeks it should be a clear sign. Dont worry its probably more growth, the plant looks like its not even 3 weeks old...
Should be a clear sign... By then id hope he would cut them down if necessary...
Funny u brought up the odor eliminating cfl cuz I was orderin some nutes today and saw one online. I doubt that it'd work for the smell of the stuff we're growin but then again u never know.

right on its from the temps im making my plants go purple in week 6 im gonna have a purple strain with master bud!!!!

yea its going to take a while of veggin before it starts showing sex without putting it in 12/12. If you do that you should start seeing sex in a week or two.

If you 12/12 a plant before its mature the plant can think that it already missed the opportunity to get pollen and it may hermie. Doesn't happen much but can happen!
From the grow bible:
Stress related sex problems MIGHT produce hermaphrodite
plants. The stress of what is sometimes called "early flowering" (it is
not really early flowering, there is no such thing as early flowering.
We will explain this in a moment) triggers the plant into a situation
where it thinks that its chances of reproduction are slim to none. That
situation is a condition called - 'self-pollination'. It does this by
producing both male and female flowers on the same plant. The male
flowers then pollinate the female flowers which will eventually
produce seeds. The reason for this is that the plant notices that the
photoperiod is irregular and that it should no longer be in the
vegetative cycle but in flowering. This shocks the plant into a last
ditch effort to receive pollen because it feels that it has missed its
chance to receive pollen already (in the wild males release their pollen

just around the time that females begin to flower and sometimes even
before that).
If you are really impatient here is a possible alternative (though depending on your situation may not be practical (again from the grow bible)
Force-flowering a cutting is probably the best early sexing
method out there. Simply take a cutting from the plant that you want
to sex and place the cutting in a cup of water or into a cloning medium
such as rockwool. Give the cutting 12 hours light and 12 hours total
darkness. The cutting will flower and display its sex. Clones will carry
the exact same genetic make-up as the plant it came from, including
sex.

alright nice. how do i take a cutting without hurting it? do i take any node or hows that work? if it happens to show that the cutting is male then the plant its from is male... if so i might induce force flowering n try to make it hermi. then pick of the male parts or the pollenating parts. hows that sound?

yes the smaller 1 of my 2 big 1s i c the 2 hairs! thats 1 so far others u still cant tell..only thing is now is that the 2 bigger 1s hav new leaf growth inbetween the nodes n if i start flowering now i dont think itll b good cuz the plant is still trying to grow the new leafs on the nodes.. so it wont focus all its energy into flowering... well thats my theory. so my plan is to let the new leaves grom b4 flowering. unless u provide me with info thats its good to go =] thanx!

those in the pics were def new leave sprouts...i think if its tall enuf just flower it...but there is no harm in some more veg time...anyway once u start flowering u will notice a lot more sprouts of leaves in between and they might grow...i think the 12 dark hours kinda trigger the plant to go into overdrive knowing its close to the end lol...but thats what i noticed in mine....put some cfls on the sides around where those leave sprouts are, the more light the quicker they will grow out
First off, flowering isn't about being tall enough, but being SHORTenough To me, as an indoor closet grower, flowering is dependent a lot on size requirements. Plan ahead so u don't run out of room is all im sayin. Ur plants gonna at least double in size during flowering. The new leaves will grow at will during flowering as well regardless of weather u let them develope before hand. Like silky said, no harm in more veg time (IF U GOT THE SPACE), more veg time = more buds in the end, but only if u can fulfill the need for more lights, more space, more everything.
