preparation for 1st timer

Sup fellas? First post here been snoopin around for a while thout i'd sign up. really starting to get sick of the outrageous prices and consistent low quality of the chronic here in central saskatchewan, so i am contemplating gardening my own erbs.
i am going to school and live in a small apartment. so i need something cheap and stealth, was thinking of gutting a file cabinet (actually went and bot 1 at pawn shop but i ruined it trying to gut without tools lolpiss me off). I only want one er two plants, just enough to keep my self at bay. what would i be looking at for lighting as far as watts, amount of lights, type of light, for such a small grow, it would need to be as cheap as possible. nothing fancy just as long as it works.
as far as ventilation i doubt i would be able to swing a duct to a window to keep the smell down because it would be waaay to obvious. would the smell out do cheap air freshners placed in the closet of the grow cabinet. I would put in the intake/exhaust fan on the bottom of the cabinet so there is no visible flaws with the regular cabinet on the outside.

Haha I got you bro, First off Fuck the cab idea. if your ganna grow, do it right. all you will need is about 3-4/ 2bulb florescent system, so it will equal out to 6-8 bulbs could probably just pull off 2-3 systems but plants love light. If you are going to do a small cab grow, exhaust out the back of it. If you have traffic going threw your apartment I wouldnt suggest growing. It will make your whole apartment smell up if you JUST vent out with no smell reducers. check out a website called HTGsupply.com They have some odor reducers.
