Preparing to Clone My Indica Blue Cheese..

Hello Folk's;
First time post on this great Forum..
Last season I bought 4 clones and did okay. Never did know what I grew.. Sativa for sure..
Raised indoors from March 15th until May 15th and placed into my greenhouse.
Kinda ran out of time as I gets cold up here by September 15th usually. Still Harvested about 6 ounces per plant.
I live in Calgary, Alberta... Canada..
35 years ago I grew a secret 44 plant hydro room for about 3 years.. Times have changed..
This year I had a package of seeds from Expert Seeds..
I am going to grow in Coco Perlite(70/30) in #7 Gallon Airpots..
Blue Cheese. .Mostly Indica 90% + 10 % Sativa..
I germinated 3 seeds and grew them until now.. January 25th Start...
I have now have 3 beautiful Mother Plants..
I am providing a few clones to other people in my area. I am legally allowed 4 plants..
I have added a simple Light Depravation Canopy on top of my Greenhouse..
I know about correct pH and food applications, cleanliness etc..
I have never grown Cannabis like these short, stocky and healthy plants..
I have now, a pile of Clone selections to be contemplated before cutting..
The node spacing is very close... Super tight 3/4 " to 1.5 " per stalk..
Should I wait and stretch these Momma's a bit before selecting ?
Should I aim lower on the plants for clones or should I take the super healthy tops..( much debate about higher growth hormones down lower in the plant)
These Plants were raised to produce my small needs and I will keep the Main Mother plant healthy after ..But I am not concerned beyond survival mode for her until later.
Very curious about the correct usage of Grodan Cubes & Trays..I have found that they really dry out quick and need constant attention.. (Time to soak correctly etc..)
Food if any for Clones..etc..Ph initial and food instructions..
I await any and all questions and opinions,
I am a novice with a scientific background and an open mind..
Thanks..
James
Ps Sorry to ramble (0n)..

I would clone away! Its been my experience that clones from lower branches develope into nice strong plants faster as long as they are healthy and well growing. That being said ive never used the main shoot from an untopped plant. They can also be longer when you take them. Clear all the nodes off apart from the top few, depending on the length of your snip. Cut large remaining leaves in half.
Either stand them in clean water to prevent air getting into vascular system until you are ready, or put a bit of rooting powder/gel on straightaway and put into a soaked jiffy. Then keep nice and warm and a little humid for a couple of weeks.
I often don't use hormone, I just crush very lightly where cut, put in to jiffy, and put in cup at the bottom of my tent. So they get light but not too strong or too hot. Never lose more than 1 in 5 or so I would say.
Thats how I do it. Simple as. However there are guides on here step by step if you have a look.
