Preventing build up on airstones?

The roots looked pretty good when I harvested last week. No real slime and pretty good root development on most of the plants. I hear you on things going nuts in the rez when you add the sugars. Ph swings like a mofo. Not really swings but always raising up to 6.5 overnight.

For those that think sugars put on weight and produce trichs, I kind of feel compelled to add that most sugars can not be absorbed by the plant. If you want to inject carbs into your plants I would highly recommend liquid light with the DM penetrator. That stuff really does work wonders.

That's the exact same conclusion I have found myself. (it's called saturator now for anyone interested in purchase)

Heisenberg, if your into foliar feeding, I would check into seaweed derrivities as well. My buddy was raving about a product the other day, can't remember the name right now for the life of me, but he was saying that it, along with liquid light, were the only products that you could absolutely tell an immediate difference in plant response.

ok so to add to what has been stated as far as hydro setups go you're not really suppose to use molasses in your grow mostly because of the type of sugar that molasses has in it not to mention that in essence molasses is a syrup so all that "gunk" ans stuff you're mentioning is as you say a direct result of the molasses as far as finding a chemical or bacteria to help break it down your ress will quite literally need to be saturated in bacteria almost to the point of 50% bacteria ridiculous i know. but that the reason it's primarily used in soil because at the very lease even if it's stuck around the bacteria can take it's time to break it down cuz it's not in the way even though it invites pest my suggestion as some one else pointed out find a hydro friendly substitute like sugar daddy and get rid of this on going headache all together or if you like using the molasses switch to soil
