Why is it difficult for people to see the benefit of gov't oversight over a strong private sector? Who oversees the way that gov't runs their operation? Ehmm...no one? What does the gov't currently do if standards aren't met? Lower the standard or raise the budget, those are the only two options. If the gov't were there with the soul purpose of setting the standard, they could have a third, very valueable option in times when the standards aren't being met. Find someone else who can do it better.

It shouldn't be forgotten that the gov't steals money from it's people through confiscatory practices and SQUANDERS it employing THEMSELVES. Imagine if the financial incentive to get something done was such that the better you do the job and the more efficiently the more money you stand to make instead of the exact opposite such as it is now.

That one is too good....I'm not even going to bother with that. Do you feel the people currently control the gov't?

And Apple, Ebay, Disney, Dell, Trek, Ford, Century 21, Prudential, State Farm, Farmers ....

Capitalism is the best system on the planet for creating wealth and a great standard of living for anyone who wants it and is capable of reaching it. On the other hand, crony capitalism is ruining the country ... along with outlandish union demands.
the point is that you are correct, capitalism is designed to create wealth, govenment is designed to engender order - these two things rarely mix. Nothing in the judicial sector should ever be privatized because it alters the purpose of the institutions. Run a prison for profit? then wouldn't it be in your best interest to promote crime? Hmm?

You my friend are delusional. Who are you going to vote for? The guy who's campaign was propped up and financed by the corporations or the guy who's campaign was propped up and financed by the unions? The people don't have a candidate, so how does your power to vote give you any real power?

"These two things rarely mix"???? Governenment and profit ALWAYS mix. Not too many poor people running the gov't huh? It's pretty disengenious to state that the people in political power aren't motivated by profits and that the two don't often intertwine, they ALWAYS intertwine.

Then dont vote. Your choice. But then you have no right to complain either
WTF are you talking about? I vote in every election, I'm just not blind enough to believe that it gives the People any real power when the system is setup to have PRIVATELY funded candidates running PRIVATELY funded campaigns and to have PRIVATE lobby groups influence their decisions more than your votes.

You have to be a sheep to sit here and believe that the system is working and that you should entrust the state to run without any profit motive. It's downright laughable if you've been watching what's happened to this country over the past 100 years.

I will forgive you for forgetting wtf we are talking about here. You asked why I have "forgotten" that We The People are the gov't. My point is that the will of the people is not currently represented by our government. All 435 members of congress, 100 members of the senate, and the members of the executive branch have been elected through campaigns in which they were financed by corporations, lobby groups and/or labor unions with the sole purpose of promoting THEIR interterest over the general interest.

As long as we have a gov't that is elected in this manner and BOUGHT and sold like WHORES, forget "trusting" the gov't to wield as much power as need be. Isn't there an age limit on this website? You have to be under the age of 13 to believe that the gov't represents the People in society. More and more power is sucked away from the people by the state (full of whores) so that they may impose their will upon you.

This isn't a nonsense discussion about whether or not I should vote. What at a troll.

Read it again, Wealth and order rarely mix. They can be and often are at cross purposes.

Wrong as usual. Those who choose not to vote get to complain no matter who is elected. If the leaders suck and my taxes are still collected, I am fully justified in complaining if I don't like the way they operate. Personally, I will be voting and most likely complaining, even if the candidate I voted for is elected.
