but hey i checked the growFAQ and all it says is how to Clone.

what Im wondering is my plants are 5 days into flowering and they are from seed so i dont know which ones are male or female quite yet. is it okay to clone during flowering when i find out the sex. it seems like a lot of info says that you shouldnt clone after you've begun flowering, but if i clone randomly now I wont even know if my clones are male or female. lol. dilemma. info?!?!

You certainly can clone a flowering female, you just have to put the clone back in veg for a while to get it to re-vert. Some say this takes 6 weeks under HID lighting, even longer under fluorescent.

It CAN be done!

I Have taken cuttings 2 weeks into flowering before and they rooted just fine. But unsure as to how long you have exactly maybe someone else can help you more. Good luck

you can clone once you find out sex but takes a little time to revert back to vege
once u c signs of females then clone them get rooted and put str8 back in vege cycle
males tend to flower before females so thats a head start destroy unless into breeding

cool good to know.
I dunno how the hell Ill keep them under 24/hr lighting since i only have one mh setup and its on 12/12 for my flowering setup. I wonder if a few CFL spotlights would be enough. Probably not. I could put them by the window for part of the day but the night would be the real issue! :-\

if you only take cuttings from your strongest, best looking female, it should be possible to reveg one or two little plants under some cfl's. Remember that plants need a lot less light in their vegetative state than in flowering.

I am about to be doing nearly the exact same thing. At first i was thinking to take some cuttings like you but now i have decided to just pull a good looking female all together and re-veg the whole plant into a mother...should be less headache and risk. I reeeeeeeeally want to hang on to this Hindu Kush line...and i reeeeeeally do not want to grow from seed again. I plan on getting another small cabinet and putting 4 of the large cfl's in there...should do the trick

dumb question incoming:

how do you re-veg a plant into a mother?
is that like flowering and harvesting the buds and then throwing it back into vegitative cycle?? im a noob. rofls.

For cloning, you should take cuttings during veg. Either take blind cuttings from each plant and then dump the ones that turn out to be from males, OR just wait until they show pre-flowers in veg, and then clone the fems before switching to 12/12.

To re-veg, just chop the plant a bit higher than usual, leaving some of the lower shoots intact with leaves, and then put it back under 24/0 lighting. After a while, new veg growth should start sprouting.

just got get a shop light from homedepo, you can get a 2 footer for like 20 bucks, and that could easly be your veg/clone light

I have a 4ft flouro setup (2 bulb) the only issue with using that is there is NOWHERE in this house to hang it from. 1 closet is taken up by my current grow and the only other available closet would be in my bedroom and i already tried that method but i really prefer not to have my room illuminated through the night. it makes sleeping almost unbearable until i get so fucking tired i dont care anymore. I wonder if i just laid it on its side on a table facing the plants if that would be enough? but then of course I wouldnt want them to grow towards the light. hah.

if your lucky enuff to live near a grow shop try to get some panda plastic its some thick plastic thats white on one side and black on the other, perfect for covering light sources and if done right can even seal areas in fairly well atleast enuff to change the air flow. but yes its just easyer to clone/keep mothers for cloneing in the closet since they really dont need all your attention and grow in the room. oh almost forgot you could try to ask around at mabe a homedepo for the platic lineing they use for the bottom of sand playgrounds and stuff its about the same thinkness (keeps weeds from growing threw the area)its just not white on the other side, that kinda helps for reflection... all i got atm
